  1. Nope. The Trailblazer. Go figure.
  2. It’s a veritable smorgasbord of money making opportunity, isn't it? Your question is not easy to answer. What did I get written up for? Or what was I actually accused of doing? Or what did I actually do? Those are 3 very different things.
  3. Welcome to the wonderful world of Alternative Revenue Generation. Highway F**in robbery is what I call it. But of course, there is no political lobby for "law breakers".
  4. OK, this is gonna open up the can of worms, methinks. I will be exposed for the other hobby I pursue. See my website for diecast collecting.... http://hometown.aol.com/onesixtyfourth/index.html The year by year pages are something I started doing to avoid carrying a list around. I access these pages from my cell while at the store. Yeah, I am a geek that way!
  5. Target, Wal-mart and Toys R Us are your best bets in the chain stores. JL is most successfully found at the independent hobby stores I think.
  6. Yeah, but NOS that was the fun part!
  7. Looks like it uses a variation of the tooling for the special St. Patrick's day one I found today. By the way, thanks to those that show interest in these postings. I was beginning to wonder if I was wasting my effort.
  8. Actually that is probably closer to the truth....
  9. Umm, let's see, the Navigator came out in '98. The Escalade and Yukon Denali in '99. Hardly enough time to react and engineer those new models if they started after seeing the Lincoln. Yes, there were some that didn't understand the idea, but those trucks were well underway when the Nav hit the streets. So whoever in management overruled the naysayers and kept the development full steam ahead did okay, I'd say.
  10. Yeah, the one I have been looking at is a Dark Crimson CXS with the chrome 18" rims. Pretty much the car in the pic. So the Northstar V8 would replace my current 5.3L. So far it seems to be my best bet lease-wise.
  11. Seems like it hit here this weekend. I filled up Wednesday for $2.91 and Friday it was $3.24.
  12. I dont pay ADM. Ever. No matter how much it is.
  13. Why do you only count Chevy sales? I don't care how the numbers break down as long as the Malibu/G6/Aura total is higher than the Camry total or the Accord total. I havent looked at those numbers for a while, so excuse me if they aren't, but you get my meaning. If GM was only Caddy and Chevy, I'd be hard pressed to find something I like and can afford.
  14. Yeah, the problem is availability of the G8 before my lease is up, and the fact that I antcipate dealers marking them up.
  15. 4 weeks left or so until I can make a move on replacing the GXP. The leading candidate seems to be this: Thoughts?
  16. Personally, I don't have a problem with multiple brands of a platform. In fact, its one of the reason I have always bought American. I look at it like this, you've got 3 or 4 choices of styling to attract someone. If I don't like the Chevy, maybe I like the Pontiac, etc. It's not the concept, but the execution that remains a problem. I actually think companies like GM are in better position now to offer this type of choice than in the past. If they rationalize which parts can and should be common and then focus on the differentiation parts, they can keep the costs down. The fact that so many parts have been reduced across the board already along with the technology aspects, means that it should be cheaper to execute this now than in the past. Really, how many door latch striker designs do they need? Or antennas? Or lug nuts? I have always been disappointed in the choices available in Japanese cars in particular. The way options are bundled or available only on certain models has always turned me off. Unfortunately, I see the progress of this philosophy at GM on the new Malibu. Somehow a marketers idea of the ideal car and mine are always different.
  17. Umm, I got news for ya, I don't exactly see these daily in the Detroit area, in fact I can't remember the last time I saw any of these around here.
  18. See the Members Ride for pics. Its harder than I thought to capture the wine colored metalflake in the paint.
  19. I'd have to look into that. If you are going by BuyPower or GMC.com, I'm not sure their info is 100% accurate. For instance try and build UM8 Nav Radio into anything but a 3SS TB and its a no go on the web. But mine is coming with it. I wouldnt be suprised to find out you could do it, but it may not be publicized. And actually what sucks for GMC buyers is that Chevy and Saab get all 3 engines, and GMC does without the 6.0. By the way, I pick it up later this week. So pics next week weather permitting. Next on the agenda.... replace my car (GXP) in spring.
