  1. After a month of driving, my G6 GTP convertible, I still think it's a great car for $30 K. I haven't had a single problem.
  2. I also had a Lotus Esprit and I'm still very happy with the handling of my '06 G6 GTP convertible for a lot less $$.
  3. BuddyP, Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. The G6 GT Convertible has a 201 hp engine. The G6 GTP Convertible has a 227 hp engine.
  4. enzl, No offense taken. We all have different wants and needs and opinions. This is the first Pontiac that has really grabbed me, since the 1960's GTO's.
  5. I've owned my G6 GTP convertible for a week and I just returned from a 700 mile, one day road trip. This is a great car for $32K! I love the styling, ergonomics, acceleration and handling. I've owned much more expensive, high performance cars; for example, Mercedes E55 AMG, Lotus Esprit and several Corvettes. So, I feel I have a basis for comparison. I think Pontiac has done a great job.
  6. Yesterday, I went on a 700 mile road trip, with my wife and sister in law, to pickup my niece, in Goldsboro, NC. We had the top down and had a great time. My sister in law is pretty large ( 200+ lbs ); but, she was very comfortable in the back seat. The car performed great - acceleration, handling, gas mileage ( 22 mpg avg w/ a lot of 80 mph Interstate cruising ), XM radio.
  7. GM Dealers, in my area, are staying open through July 5th, as GM is allowing all sales through that date to be reported as June sales. The 0% for 72 months and the long month should boost the June numbers. Of course, the short July numbers will, probably, suffer.
  8. Thanks again, everyone. I'll be on the lookout for the Car and Driver article.
  9. Thanks, guys. I'll keep you posted. Flybrian, there really isn't any trunk space with the top down; but, the back seat area should be an adequate substitute. The cockpit, on the other hand, has plenty of space, which was a priority for me. Cadillacfan, I'll keep the tip in mind about the top, just after washing. So far, it works perfectly. I'm 57 years old, so I've owned a lot of new vehicles and I really feel this one is a "winner".
  10. I just bought a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP Hardtop Convertible. I love it. The styling is top notch, as are fit and finish. The retractable hardtop works perfectly. The 227 hp, 3.9 L has plenty of pickup and it's fun to drive. All this for $32K MSRP. Great job Pontiac!!!!
