  1. 7 9 3 I'd have a fourth vote but some of the pictures aren't loading for me on this page. :/
  2. I can see that, the stacked headlights and the wide grille and the stance.
  3. Hey dwight, you did great on it except one little detail that's bugging me; the partition between the two grille holes on the nose is a little skewed to the passenger side. I love the concept otherwise and my eyes keep going to the crooked grille.
  4. Don't forget the SRX. I just read a Car and Driver in which the SRX got 2nd place out of 6 luxury SUVs, including the Mercedes ML and the BMW X5. Only reason the Acura MDX won was because it was cheaper. Anyway, let's un-derail. Back to the competition!
  5. Once thought no longer to be a possibility, GM has secretly merged with Nissan/Renault to bring back the Oldsmobile name. To celebrate, the new supermini from Oldsmobile, the 28, will debut at the New York Auto Show. This rebadged Renault Megane is sure to be a hit with modern city families. Oldsmobile will be a nameplate with which to bring over European cars to the US market, much like Saturn is to Opel--only Oldsmobiles will see only the most practical and city-going of European designs enter their showrooms. To draw on Oldsmobile heritage, the names of these cars will be based on two digit numerals ending in the number 8, bearing such exciting option names as Delta (now spelled "Delteau" to signify the models' French origins) and Rocket (now pronounced "rock-ay").
  6. I feel like you tweaked your revival competition entry and entered it here. And both just look like tweaked late-model Firebirds. You shade them well though. Especially this one.
  7. Fantastic Pontiac. Firebird I'm guessing? You forgot to mention.
  8. Mario Bro, you're getting a lot better. Looks like a Gallardo. That's not what I would envision the next Eldorado to be, but not a bad idea. I might suggest more than four spokes for your next rims, though those are certainly better than before. The interior, while the dimensions aren't bad, doesn't look very upscale. Kinda looks like it might belong in a Aveo. Look at the interiors of current Cadillacs for the crisp, sweeping interior lines and upright forms.
  9. Chevrolet needs a two door version of its upcoming family four door, the new Malibu. Many take issue with the Monte Carlo making the change to front wheel drive in 1995. And naming this new FWD coupe a Chevelle, referencing the nameplates old marriage to the Malibu? That would be just as conflicting, if not more so. This leads to the question: what respectible midsized, front-wheel-drive coupe has Chevrolet had? I think GM hit the nail on the head in 1990 when they introduced the Chevrolet Lumina Z34. With a 3.4L DOHC V6 producing 210Hp it made 0-60 in 7.2 seconds, and a slightly sportier suspension, it was decent for the time. That's sport, but not super. And Chevy recognized this by not calling it a Monte Carlo, and badging it not SS, but Z34 instead. At the same time, it was still a practical, affordable car. They could do that today. It's not meant to be something tremendous and top of the line; there's an upcoming Camaro and Impala for that. Just a good, somewhat sporty FWD coupe, and something that doesn't try to be what it's not. Okay so it's not a realistic possibility at all. But I went for something original! Not to mention my daily driver is a '92 Z34. http://www.geocities.com/luminaz34page/zcop1.jpg for reference; not my car
  10. I love the idea, it's just that there's too much for me to choose from! The Regal, the Chevelle, the Blazer, the LeSabre, the Skylark, the Eldorado, the Riviera (I just did that though), not to mention all the great Oldsmobiles! Maybe this should be split into a two part competition? Well if not, I think I know what I'm doing. It'll be very unexpected.
  11. Woo! First place! Let's just hope Buick's replacement for the LaCrosse turns out close to our entries. Congrats everyone, nice work.
  12. You know, given the extra day I was going to enter something, but I'm just not feeling it. Never really liked what they did with the Cobalt, and yeah that usually drives me to change things, but this time it just wasn't ruling out over the fact that there are two or three very impressive entries this time around. I'll surely be in the next one though.
  13. It would be great if the lower front fascia was centered. As it is, it's skewed waay over to the passenger side. Nice idea though. Headlights are good.
  14. I think FWD is definitely viable for affordable, practical performance. But to get back on topic, I will be trying to design one for this. I like yours rj, even if it's a little 80's.
  15. D'oh! I forgot the ventiports! Glad I entered so early. I'll fix that. EDIT: Fixed.
  16. I guess I'll set the bar. Feel free to jump right over.
  17. They did pretty much nothing but split the grill in half and stick an arrowhead in the middle. Not even the wheels are new. I know that's what we were to expect, but it still irritates me. The Pontiac design heratage is being muddied up. The Commodore is a good looking car, it's just not Pontiac.
