  1. This Impala is a big success. It's selling for thousands more than the old impala, they have limited production so they don't have to big incentives, and - this is a decent looking family car. They couldn't have done better with a limited money W body update so kudos to Bob Lutz again for doing what he could do with next to no money.
  2. Saturn does not need a Zeta. Opel COULD use a Zeta - they can agree to disagree on that model. GM has nothing larger than a midsize (except for extremely low volume Cadillac) in Europe. In NA - Saturn has larger cars at Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and Pontiac. Don't do it. I'm sorry - i read all the comments from the bashers but commodore and statesman/caprice are clean simple beautiful cars. they can look at the same as long as they're sold in different markets. if those were on sale in NA - i don't care what brand - they would sell.
  3. I think when you think about the current lineup of GM models - the sales are encouraging. I would think this was a fairly strong month profitwise if you consider the mix - especially if fleet sales are being reduced month over month. Car sales are down but most of the cars in the lineup are also rans and i think we have to wait for 08/09 to see a marked increase in car marketshare once the new epsilon II/zeta cars hit. I think Rick Wagoner deserves some credit for drastically changing (and improving) GM the way he has when you consider that the USELESS CEOs that ran the company before him are the reason that the company is in the shape it's in. The company was an absolute mess 12 months ago. It's not yet repaired by any means but it's a dramatic improvement in one year. Wagoner is truly transforming GM into a global company as fast as he can considering he is also focused on cost cutting and union issues. He handled the Nissan-Renault alliance properly and he also just fought off Kerkorian - a deep pocketed shark.
  4. There is nothing wrong with the 80 to 85 Seville or Allante and i do think they belong in this commercial. I also think they could have put the 92 Seville in the commercial to have at least one (perhaps the only decent) 90s car bridge the gap with the present. The 92 Seville was considered a great looking car and a great leap forward for Cadillac at the time AND it did win Motor Trend's car of the year in 1992. The commercial is great and everyone i've talked to - Cadillac fan or not - likes this commercial. Great choice of music.
