  1. Been saying much the same thing for years now. As maligned as the station wagon has been in recent years, that's all a minivan was and that's all an SUV is these days. If people had a lick of common sense, those driving SUVs for the last decade would have been buying wagons instead. What do you suppose the percentage of SUVs that have neevr been in 4WD is? Zeta could fix that. Imagine even 25% of current SUV owners switching to a Zeta wagon/Crossover, that would be a huge step toward complying with CAFE and reducing fuel consumption. It's so obvious. The lack of such vehicles for the last few decades is WHY we had the SUV craze to begin with!
  2. Congrats Ted, glad this one didn't "get away".
  3. Hope you enjoy it. And, remember us when you attend those meetings.
  4. Most recent cars can handle it, older stuff requires some upgrading or a more dilute mixture. I could see companies operating a program like this for their employees as a benefit as well as a car club or any other group. Hell, GM should already be doing it for their employees.
  5. Besides that, the Colorado is a nasty place to spend your workday when compared to a Silverado. I don't think you'll see any appreciable number of contractors giving up full-size trucks for compacts, no matter the fuel costs.
  6. You make E-100 (moonshine), put a few gallons of gas in the tank and fill the rest with the E-100. Technically, you are required by law to render the "moonshine" undrinkable.
  7. When you get right down to it, I don't need to buy a new car ever. So what I'm willing to buy has to meet a higher standard.
  8. 2nd place finisher.
  9. No, it's worthy of winning the category. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. The rear suspension would collapse under the weight of my trailer (empty). It would also be illegal to carry enough in one load to make a living. And get this: Any gain in fuel economy would be erased by the need to make multiple trips instead of just one. No, the Colorado would be useless to me - no matter the engine. Hell, sometimes the Silverado is too small.
  11. Except in very rare cases, no sedans.
  12. Actually, when we are talking car (rather than truck) then the answer is still yes. No car I would buy would be AWD or 4WD. I have a truck for that.
  13. Considering selling yet? :AH-HA_wink:
  14. A station wagon could do what a Colorado can do. As for the plants, GM builds trucks in quite a few locations so they will remain available.
  15. I like your recipe. No official word on either a manual or the GXP package for the ST yet. Hell, the bums forgot that they were supposed to announce the ST's real name in May! Still nothing on that.
  16. Words to live by.
  17. The skip shift issue isn't new territory for me. :AH-HA_wink:
  18. QUESTION AUTHORITY!
  19. Even for me, it would be VERY hard to hack up a brand new car - I'm not sure I could stand it. And the expense would be obscene. No, if GM wants to sell me a new one, I think they will have to offer the manual. Otherwise, it will be a used one (which I won't feel so bad about converting). I would give up the GXP option if it meant I could get the manual.
  20. No FWD, under any circumstances, ever.
  21. I'm guessing that you've never used a truck for work. If you had, you would never suggest the Colorado/Canyon - they would be utterly useless to me.
  22. It will mean much the same for me.
  23. I think GM needs a refresher course.
