  1. First time 1990, last 1996. Then left to start Real Estate company, now broker and auto consultant. Pit stop at Williamson 2-02, renamed Patsy Lou, feminized store, took from 70 per mo to 160 8-02, left again.

so, we all agree you can sell. what makes you think that a salesman can make a good businessman or turnaround artist?

the general did start to post profits and i believe will continue. the only downer is that they had to let go another 30,000 plus customers.

  2. Ah...the beauty of going back and reading the original posts.....Northstar-that's a great idea! I've thought about that for a little while too-that groundbreaking Mercedes-Benz CLS is the only fully captivating M-B I've ever seen (they're breaking out in style, but not that much). CLS is not meant to boost sales, volumes, etc. Its meant to boost style and show that M-B is capable of more than bland, evolutionary cars. I think converting STS into a CLS-type competitor, whether or not called STS, would be a great idea! Offer it with a V-8 only, leave V-6's to CTS and below.

all good stuff. however, i did take delivery of my new STS, Loaded, Lux package, with the V6, AWD and the upgrade corsa dual exhaust. WOW!! fast (about 20 more HP), nice tone out the back and it runs on regular gas.

  3. Hummer detroit is advertising an H3 maximizer. up to 25 MPG. i was more than curious so i called the service guys. for $189. they fill the tires with nitrogen and put in a vortex valve. doesn't void the warranty and the DEALER says you'll get up to 25 MPG and 10% more horse power. the local ABC affiliate did something on that little turbine deal you put into your air cleaner. final analysis was it didn't work. this can't be what the dealer is selling? anyone have any ideas?
  4. 8) Here are two companies that sell H2's with the Duramax HO and Allison 6 speed tranny.  You can also get the smaller original Duramax and 5 speed allison.

Pretty cool and at 22MPG  way better than anything else out there.  :P

    Predator H2 Duramax Hummers

    Stallion Customs Duramax H2 Conversions.

Enjoy, I for one am looking forward to an H4 Pickup Truck :D

    any conversions for the H3?
  5. well, as we sit, the caliber is not a disaster but a runaway hit. with, what, only a 12 day supply? the magnum is not selling well but, boy oh boy, i took one to cincy and it was a fine ride. fast and pretty smooth. i almost bought one but i really do not like the interior. specifically the door panels and some of the inside trim. none the less this is one hot car. the charger is pretty sharp as well. don't care for the commander but i think the new, midsized dodge suv will sell well. i think the crummy build quality award goes to ford or maybe mitsu.

  6. this months cr reviewed the tahoe among others both big and small.  it still didnt have the kindest words for it, found many a fault, isnt recomended and overall ranks the armada and seqouia as 1 and 2.

i didnt know that it weighed almost 6,000 lbs. i knew it was heavy but 5,7-- lbs.  and it still gets 14 mpg.  that alone should be a selling point.  but i digress, business as usual.

idiots. i took the armada on a business trip to cincinnati. highway ride was a little uncomfortable. LOTS of cheap, ill fitting interior plastic. sound system wasn't that hot. a buddy saw it and told me he ordered one. black. took over 3 months to get it. not only do they build mediocre trucks, but they cannot deliver them to you.

  7. Did you folks see the train wreck in oshawa? i received some photos yesterday.

Its a great way to increase sales and market share. Looks like someones insurance company just bought about 1.3 million dollars worth of trucks.

i cannot get these to post!!!

  8. Does anybody know if cadillac has plans to add E 85 capabilities to any of their cars? I think adding E85 to the V6, AWD STS, the CTS and the Wagon would make sense. Maybe an E85 Escalade.

  9. Call your congressmen and TELL them they better support and promote the widespread deployment of ethanol or they're out! It's high time ExxonMobil was knocked off their fat assed pedestal.

    (Oh yeah and "Boycott ExxonMobil")

Did you know that Brazil is imported-oil-free this year because THEY are selling E-85 everywhere down there?

brazil is not oil free. they are foreign oil independant. e 85 requires 15% oil.

  10. i am all for this. the politicos need to drop the tariffs on sugar as it produces 4 times the amount of ethanol when compared to corn. shoot you can make the stuff from prairie grass, orange skins and weeds as well. walmart has said that they will have an e 85 pump at all of their stations. all big oil needs to do is start refining ethanol and they can stay in the game. the only down side is a little less mileage. btw, why doesn't someone sell a mod kit for the most popular cars on the road that could easily convert to ethanol?

  11. saw a glacier blue one today in fenton, mi. 30 something female driver and only 3 portholes. got a lucerne book from buick today and it showed the optional wood wheel and shifter. it had the same lousy trunk shot of the spoiler.

  12. one more quarter like this and the bond rating will probably go up.

if gas drops by seventy five cents per gallon, by september, like cbs radio reported today, then watch the profitable trucks roll off the line. this is all great news. keep the quality up, get some good press and good interviews about the FFV's and look out. we need a win here, folks.
