  1. on the sunroof topic... it's not like they couldn't do it. it's platform mate, the saab 9-3, has an "innie" sunroof and in my opion, interior space impact goes unnoticed. (fyi, i'm 6' and have an 03 93 vector) that aside, i've seen a few of the aura's around here in metro detroit. i just don't have a quick camera hand like the OP. thanks for sharing! sn
  2. As they say, the proof will be in the pudding... I am interested in knowing if they will carry over the Honda engine. FYI, there is another shot on their main "futures" page: InsideLine It's a headline image so it may change when the next article comes out... Enjoy SN
  3. They did show the interior briefly during the model/runway commercial. I remember because I paused and replayed that clip several times to get a good look. I think GM spent some time and $ making sure the Escalade was set apart from the rest. As far as the difference on the GMT900 interiors, I'm sure you could find these elsewhere on C&G, but I though I'd help you out a bit... Tahoe Yukon Denali Escalade Enjoy SN
  4. Right you are! I was simply suggesting that GM leverage Saab's unique Swedish inginuity just like Ford did with Volvo. Thanks for trying to be helpful with the clarification though. And thanks to whomever started this thread! :)
  5. I'm a former 9-3 Viggen owner and a Current 9-3 Vector owner, both somehwat rare Saabs. Saab has always held some sort of mysticism for me. When I did my Viggen driving weekend in Atlanta, I saw my first Sonnett up close and I fell in love! So what do I want to see happen to Saab? Here is my list: 1. Reality is that Saab would never survive on their own. As such, GM should use the Volvo-Ford model to spread the cost of Swedish inginuity across the GM line. There are soooo many tiny thoughtful designs in my 9-3 that it boggles my mind. Other potential innovations like the varibale compression engine block: h**p://www.saabnet.com/tsn/press/000318.html ...should be celebrated within GM. I also recall a hydruallically shifted manual transmission which is the alter ego of an semiauto tranny. I.E. a manual which can shift itself. It's a better option that telling an automatic when to shift via a button or lever. 2. Change the focus of Saab to be innovation and safety in GM. Let pontiac be performance, Chevy be economy, Cadillac technology, Buick common ppl luxury, Saturn efficiency and GMC professional grade. Their headrest/seat combo has won many safety awards. 3. Focus on powertrains to set Saab apart from the rest. AWD, RWD, FWD, SMG, DSG, supercharging, turbocharging, superturbocharging, etc. 4. Here is the linup: 9-2x - small crossover based on theta, i4, turbo-4, awd 9-3 - small performance sedan - epsilon2, t4, sc4, awd, fwd 9-5 - mid/large sedan - sigma, t4, t6, awd, rwd sonnett - sports coupe - sigma, zeta, stretch kappa - twin t6, awd 9-7x - large crossover on lambda - v6, t6, twin t6, fwd, awd 5. Diesels across the entire lineup! 6. Continue dominance in the convertible arena! Why did the G6 get the epsilon hardtop?!? Saab owners would pay the premium, not Pontiac owners. Pontiac needs RWD and v8's. Period. 7. Where the heck is my 7" sat-based nav screen?!?! So there you have it. My pipe dream. Let Saab be Saab and have the rest of the company steal from them. Make them a powertrain/interior "homeroom" like Thailand for Theta or Oz for Zeta. Lastly, thanks for this thread! It's nice to dream once in a while.... SN
  6. Great news for GM! I wonder how much time they lost with these off and on delays? Now while I am happy for teh GM Siblings, I'll enter the minority here and ask.... What about Saab? Give me a Sonnett General! Give me a direct threat to the CLK and 6 series! Well, this is only possible only if they don't sell them first. SN
  7. Looks great. Hopefully a high volume hit! Start it around $25-30k and it will be. Imagine what the convertible will look like?!? Photochop please! SN
  8. not sure if this is safe... h**p://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=15&article_id=3124 Enjoy! SN
