  1. The point is GM is saying EPA Highway Miles while Toyota is saying MPG Rated Miles. Toyota's figures are Highway Miles. Most people drive in the city. They already presume Toyota is more fuel efficient. They are going to think GM figures are Highway and Toyota is city because they don't say Highway like GM does..
  2. Once they read the window sticker they were already fooled. The sales person has them in his snare. If they bring up the EPA figures he will say its no be deal, just look at the toyota quality or some other bull.
  3. How can GM compete with Toyota when GM says in their TV ads 30 or what ever EPA miles per gallon Highway vs Toyota's 31 "mpg rated" Camry or the 36 "mpg rated" Corolla or the 23 "mpg rated" Sienna the 25"mpg rated" Tacoma etc. GM loudly says Highway miles while Toyota's deceives people in to thinking that theirs is City miles. I have seen Hyundai do something similar. Hyundai also say things like fuel efficient on their SUV ads without mentioning what the miles per gallon are. Gm and Ford and Chrysler are going to lose the Mpg battle even more with these miss- leading ads.
  4. "The immigrant population is growing and buying cars." What is Toyota's Steve Sturm saying Immigrants only or mostly buy Foreign cars?
  5. GM is touting JD Powers survey for the Malibu's initial and Long term reliability. Consumer Reports gave the Malibu A half a Black Circle and gave the Colbalt a Big black circle for reliability (most un- reliable) in their new car issue. Who do you believe JD or Con sumer Reports? Most liberal media touts Con sumer Reports. What would most people do if they see a big black Circle for reliability for a car, not buy. Consumer reports is not stupid as they will through a couple good reviews for GM and Ford to make them not to looked biased. Usually not for the leading segment for sales.
  6. I said most not all. Studies have shown that Republicans buy more domestic while Democrats buy Imports. Look at car bumper stickers when you see a anti W sticker such as a slash through a W, 90+ % have them are on Imports. I Have joked to some liberals the /W sticker means Anti-union worker. When you see a bumper sticker for a liberal cause it's usually on a import A study done maybe 6 mos. ago was all over the news media confirming this NY Times
  7. Acording To WorldNet Daily WorldNet Daily James A Guest is a liberal democrat "According to an online bio, James A. Guest, the organization's president and CEO, previously headed Planned Parenthood of Maryland. He also worked for a time as a legislative assistant to Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and led anti-firearms groups Handgun Control Inc. and the Center to Prevent Handgun Violence. Many staff at the organization who are involved in advocacy work also have experience with Democratic politicians and pushing various "progressive" causes such as public health care and expanded environmental health regulations. Jean Halloran, the director of Consumer Union's Consumer Policy Institute, was on the staff of President Carter's Council on Environmental Quality and has worked on researching the "consumer impact of land development projects." Also If you look at Crs website the ask for donations. How could they afford to buy all of the products they test. They have no advertising and when you gat their subscriptions you get the magazine cheaper then cover price plus a lot of freebees books annual car guide online access etc. The Japs must donate a lot ! As we all Know most liberal people buy Imports
  8. Bush put on tariffs on Chinese Televisions (not LCDS or Plasmas). The Japanese cried we can not compete fairly with The Chinese's. That action hurt American manufactures such As Polaroid, Apex Digital, Advent and others who use Chinese manufactures to help compete with the Japanese. Also the reason we have high proscription drug price is because every nation puts on a price cap on what they will pay for their drugs. So to make up the difference the drug companies charge us a lot more. The Japanese manipulate their currency and have a unfair advantage because of legacy costs. Thats why Bush should help out GM and Ford.
  9. consumer reports hates the hhr. how much does that hurt hhr sales?
  10. Yen Is climbing. 119 Yen to the dollar.
  11. The yen is getting weaker. it has risen to 117 yen to the dollar. experts say the yen could go to 120 to the dollar by years end and 125 early in the new year. from near 100 to 125 yean per dollar is a great profit maker for the Japanese auto makers.
  12. Because When Japan has a unfair advatage with GM and Ford nobody cares about them. But when Japan cries the US Congress listens. Just showing the double standard.
  13. When the Chinese started to gain market share in TV.s from the Japanese, the Japanese cried. so congress put tariffs on Chinese televisions. On RCA. Magnavox and New American companies such as Polaroid, Apex, Advent and others who use Chinese manufactures to compete with Japan. The tariffs were so high these companies can not manufacture regular TVs in China for their price advantage. At Target stores they have a whole new line of electronic products called Truetech. DVD players, DVD recorders, Radios, LCDS, Telephones etc. all made in China, but their line of regular TVs are made in Korea because of the High Chinese Tariffs. Can not the Big Japanese Companies compete with the new little Chinese companies? the US consumer has to pay more now for their TVs. thanks to Japan and Congress. So far the Tariffs are not on LCDS and Plasma Televisions. So go buy Viewsonic, Maxent, Proview' Syntax by Olivia, Westinghouse, Tatung ,Sampo Polaroid, Apex, Advent and others, the more competition the lower the prices. Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart. Circuit City all complained about the Tariffs but I guess the Japanese have more money to pay off the congressman.
  14. Any large scale news coverage of this scandal? What should their penalty be. Lawsuits?
