Based on various web sites and even Tesla themselves, one is expected to believe that they have 400,000 plus reservations for the Tesla 3 car. Yet with an email received last night: It seems anyone can order a Tesla 3 and NO RESERVATION FEE is required. On top of this it states that you will get your car in 2-4 months. Yet others that paid their $1,000 dollar fee to save a place in line is being told they still have to wait in some cases till 2019. The autoweek story points out that at 5,000 cars built a week, Tesla can only produce 115,000 cars this year. So how is it that they have this many reservations? Could it be that the bulk of these are for the pr…

G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Tesla Sales up 55% for Q1 Time Frame. Record Tesla Sales reports on ABC. Tesla sold 10,030 autos for Q1 and is reported as expecting to have over all sales of 55,000 auto's this year up from 31,000 last year. Tesla is focused to bring costs down via lower battery pack cost and the new SUV Model X to be released in 2016. This will come through reduced costs with their own battery factory and using main stream parts that can reduce costs. Course it is interesting to hear about the states that have passed laws to ban like West Virginia that says auto manufactures cannot sell direct…

Tesla Motor Club Pictures of Model 3 Long Range Seems that the Tesla Model 3 Long range car is to have a 310 mile range with a 126 MPGe rating according the picture above. This is 131 MPGe city and 120 MPGe highway. This is in comparison to the Chevrolet BOLT with it's 238 mile battery pack, 119 MPGe rating. Course this still does not beat the Hyundai Ioniq which is the leader with a 136 MPGe rating based on the 150 MPGe City and 112 MPGe highway for it's 124 miles battery pack. Yet this does show the direction we are going as we see more EV's enter the market place. I believe in a year from now, having an EV with a mid 250 mile range battery pack or a lon…
