GM 6 speed Planetary Manual??

Last year on GM's powertrain site there was a reference to a new GM designed six speed manual transmission for rear wheel drive cehicles that would share parts with the existing 6 speed automatic. Does anyone know anything about the status of this? Is it still going to happen or not?
