When you have an hour, go test drive one. Put it into sport mode and beat on it a little. You'll be surprised. Yeah it's only like 220hp or whatever, but the torque is instant.

The Bolt really checks every single box for cheap commuter. I’m genuinely trying to get over the atrocious shape/looks because it does everything else I’m looking for with being cheap. Before oil shot up, you could find a Bolt for 10k or even less. Of course, that wasn’t all of them, but it wasn’t uncommon to find one listed for 10k. Now that I think of it though, I think that was before the federal rebate went away and I know some dealerships were throwing the 4k used credit onto their pricing, so maybe it was all just that. Either way, 10k would be perfect.

Yeah, I'm still torn on if I want to buy a small EV as a commuter and keep the Navigator or go with something larger like a Prologue, Blazer EV, Model Y and just replace the Navigator. If it wasn't replacing the Navigator, it wouldn't need to be AWD and I'd really only look for things that get 120+ miles of range(which is why the Focus and eGolf caught my eye). FWIW, $15,000 seems to be about the last point of savings. Going beyond that and it really isn't much savings. A 25k commuter isn't going to save anything. It's just pushing the money from the oil companies to a dealership and bank.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Equinox EV. I realize it's pretty damn similar in size to the Blazer EV/Prologue, per spec sheets, but I feel like it has to feel smaller in person, otherwise I don't understand the point of both. I'm already going to miss the 3rd row (not for the seats, but for the space) and am afraid of getting something a little too small and regretting it. I just wish the freakin Blazer EV would have CarPlay. Oh, I also wish it didn't have the stupidest charge door in the industry. Considering it'll be parked outside, that's a genuine concern for me when it's 0 degrees and sleeting.

Happy Fourth of July, friends! I'm back in the U.S. for a while. Greetings from New England, where I'm visiting a friend. Still some unanswered questions regarding geography, but, with each vehicle that I was considering ceasing production one by one, this looks like the most likely contender if I were to remain stateside. It's what I currently have keys to and checks most of my boxes.
