  1. If the Buick is the 3800 with the belt through the motor mount, just take off front wheel, remove plastic shrouds, remove stud, remove spacer, replace belt, then reconstruct. It's about a 30 minute job if you have the tools and a jack ready. My dealer did the first one without removing the wheel. They jacked up the car on the left side and turned the right front wheel to make room to work.
  2. Search Ebay for the GM number on the back. You'll find individuals and stores selling them. If it's a newer model, the computer may have be accessed to make the FOB work. Some key shops offer that service. Some dealers may do it if you buy the FOB there. If it's a 99 leSabre, e.g., you just go through a set of steps int he owners manual in the glovebox to have the computer recognize all key FOBS again, one by one. It requires jumping two terminals on the ALDC under the steering wheel area.

Hey there, we noticed you're using an ad-blocker. We're a small site that is supported by ads or subscriptions. We rely on these to pay for server costs and vehicle reviews.  Please consider whitelisting us in your ad-blocker, or if you really like what you see, you can pick up one of our subscriptions for just $1.75 a month or $15 a year. It may not seem like a lot, but it goes a long way to help support real, honest content, that isn't generated by an AI bot.

See you out there.
