  2. A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners. At one home, it seemed obvious that someone was at home, he knocked but no one answered, even after repeated knocks. He took out a business card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of the card and stuck it to the door. At the next service when he reviewed the offering, he found his card had been returned in the basket. A cryptic message under his "Revelation 3:20" was "Genesis 3:10". Reaching for his bible to check the citation, he broke out laughing. Revelations 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock" Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid for I was naked." Remember when the funniest jokes were the clean ones? Pass it on!
  3. WOW, If this was Biden the GOP would have raged, but no it is Idiot47 looking confused and having to be directed around the room. Forbes published the whole almost 8 min and wow is Idiot47 confused.
  4. Talk about a lying POS Idiot47 is trying to actually think we would believe he was opposed to ICE raids in Georgia on the Hyundai / LG battery plant. Hyundai hoped to return skilled South Korean workers to the US after the ICE raid. Trump just opened the door | CNN Business https://share.google/MftbblNnEZquyJcU7
  5. WOW, Lots of stories on changing OS if you do not want to run your old windows OS on your functional hardware. Goodbye, Windows: These alternatives make switching from Microsoft easy

  7. OK, let me see if I can help you clean it up. First do you have your original installation media for the laptop? If so what version of windows? Second, how did your MSFT Office get on the laptop? Do you have media or did it come preinstalled? If preinstalled, usually there was an option to make backup media so recover and restore a clean install. Third, go to Start button, settings, apps. Here you can uninstall applications that you do not use, this will not only free up HD space but also reduce background running processes to speed up the system. Look for things like Skype that is no longer a valid product but has a ton of processes that run in the background. Some things that can be done over a clean install is that you can turn things off from the apps section such as Copilot, Cortana, etc. I found this to be of interest for those that are willing to try Linux. 7 Linux Distributions to Replace Windows 11 & 10 Best Free Alternatives to Replace Windows 10 Safely 5 Windows-Like Linux Distros You Should Try Out 4 Linux distros you should use instead of upgrading to Windows 11 3 free Linux distros that look and feel like Windows | PCWorld Option abounds for those that are willing to change how your computer runs via another OS but still has the windows look and feel.
  8. True, but sadly the real world is doom and gloom if you go into any major city with Federal buildings. The ICE building in Seattle used to be a nice place to walk by on my way to work. Now it looks like a Nazi Concentration camp with guard posts outside, razor wire, nothing that says a Democratic America, just a Dictatorship run country. Very scary to see all the ICE out and about Harassing Americans as much as anyone else. ICE needs to be closed down, and a new Immigration department built with people who are human.
  9. Yup, if you're not in AI, your pretty much being looked at as a layoff, AI bot replacement.
  10. All depends on how you take care of a laptop, you might not get security updates, but my Lenovo W520 with 32GB ram, 512GB SSD drive on Windows 10 has been solid since new, that is from 2011 and here it is 2025. 14 years. I see no reason to replace it at this time since it is working so solid. Yes, I am probably more attune to computers being an engineer and as such far more aware of what can go wrong if you accept or install stuff than most. Yet still no reason a solid laptop cannot last 10 years.
  11. I understand what you are saying, yet so many people pay 300 to 500 for a laptop that has bare minimal hardware and then a couple years later they are having to look for another laptop. This is one that should last a good 10 years for people. My dad always told me that saving up to buy a quality product over the instant gratification of something new that can last a good long time is important and I have lived by that. It pays off in the long run. If you can find your installation media, always good to export bookmarks and data files you want to save onto a USB drive and then do a clean install. It is amazing how well the computer will run even after going through all the updates again if windows based. Other thing is save your data and bookmarks and install Rocky Linux or FreeBSD and learn a bit about the Linux side and have a lean running computer.
  12. So my sister needs a new laptop and asked if I could use my employee discount to get her a good deal. I was more than happy to help, but after looking at the Dell Web Site and what Costco has coming up, it is clearly better to buy via Costco for the actual laptop. So here is the cost via dell.com Here is the same laptop currently at Costco or via their website. Here is the upcoming November 28th Holiday Sale by Costco. I did notice that Costco has raised the Warehouse Price, but the discount still saves an additional $150 dollars.

  15. It is crazy that there are MAGA that believe this is fake news when it is not and they still say they do not understand why they are not able to sell into Europe or Asia. The stupidity of MAGA is mind blowing as they would rather listen to lies than facts. They get what they wanted, Idiot leadership, idiot job losses.
  16. WOW, this just blows out the whole MAGA thing. Requires an account. In Trump-Friendly Iowa, the President’s Policies Have Hit Hard - The New York Times Alternative site posted the story for free. Deep-red state suffering 'death by a thousand paper cuts' — thanks to Trump policies: report
  17. I honestly think GM is not looking global or leadership in this approach but short-term money grab in that they think people will not move to other auto makers for the tech they want and will allow GM to dictate what one can and cannot use in regard to the auto and their cell phone.
  18. Buffett Rocks imho and he is right about the Buffoon trade war Idiot47 started. While we have known he will retire his comments on the economy is the point on piece of this story. Warren Buffett Drops Bombshell in Omaha | National Circus If you have not read these, they are worth your time, but like the fall of Rome, UK empire, the U.S. is over as the world leader. I agree with this guy that the downfall started under Idiot45. American Empire Peaked 15 Years Ago, BRICS Now Ahead Of G7: Economist Richard Wolff Discussion on this here: The economist who coined the acronym BRICS talks about how his original vision evolved : NPR Thought provoking and I agree that there are things that will keep the U.S. strong but the current Idiot administration is not helping the long-term outlook for the U.S. I understand what GM thinks they can attain with the changes they are doing, but I sadly do not see them winning against the Billions who want AA/CP. It does not help that they cut tech jobs thinking they can manage a better eco system than Alphabet has done. GM sucks when it comes to keeping tech current. GM cuts hundreds of jobs at 69-year-old Midwest plant - days after bumper earnings Day of reckoning is coming and I hope it finally gets the Idiots out of the White house, the damage done is irreversible in the short term, but can be fixed for a better America. 20. About time GOP takes the blame they so deserve for the terrible state of the U.S. Trump Repeats Biden’s Biggest Blunder as Inflation Soars 33% of auto loans in the U.S. are delinquent and are in repossession. An auto glut of used autos is coming.
  21. Interesting as AWD vehicles have never had to have chains before in WA state and even the owners manual of my Escalade states to NOT use chains. Yet Nov 1st they are enforcing all vehicles that go over the passes here must have chains including 4x4 and awd. Winter driving requirements to be enforced Nov 1. What you need to know
  22. WOW, Another reason to hate GM, they have changed the ability to use the native Google Maps in your auto by turning it into a $300 a year subscription fee. AA/CP forever, GM can die. It’ll cost $300 a year to keep using Google Maps in your Chevy
  23. WOW, Got in the mail a request to sign up for a GM Rewards card. Was shocked by the interest rate they want on the card. Says ranges from 19% to 33% interest depending on credit score. Talk about indentured debt if you carry a balance, went into recycle bin as I have no interest in the GM Reward card.
  24. Just before the fall storm moved in I ran to Costco and saw this, an excellent view of the past and present.
  25. Seeing this I have always felt that with those that do not believe in science, we will have a worse death toll of humanity. This pretty much nails it on the head. ‘The Big One' Could Be Deadlier Than COVID, Expert Warns of 7million+ Death Toll | Watch
