I think we all saw this coming, the CyberTruck is now officially the worst launch of an auto equal to the failed Edsel. Larger than expected drop in sales too is continuing to hurt Tesla. Only bright spot is their global charging stations. 'Huge swing and a miss': Cybertrucks reportedly stand as auto industry's biggest flop ever The start of early investors demanding the board kick out Musk and save the company. Early Tesla investor calls for Elon Musk to resign amid stock slump OUCH we knew it was coming, but it will be so much worse as Vietnam and Taiwan is not just computers like laptops and tablets or phones, but these two countries are where the auto industry went for continued cheap part assembly that are then imported into the U.S. for final assembly in EVs, Hybrids and ICE autos. Here’s what could soon cost you a lot more because of Trump’s massive tariffs Get ready for everything Auto related to get so much more expensive.

We'll the Great Stagflation has begun due to Stupidity of Idiot47. Stellantis has stopped all production in Canada and Mexico and idled a plant in the mid-west with layoff's. Very ugly story, but get ready to button down the hatches as the U.S. economy might just go into a depression that could equal or worse the Great Depression of the 1930's imho. Stellantis to pause production at Windsor plant, lay off 900 workers in Midwest Then imho, I have to agree that Idiot47 has given the global auto industry sales to the Chinese as he has killed the ability for Ford or GM to really sell globally now. The unexpected winners of U.S. auto tariffs? Chinese car brands

I love that two-tone green interior. That is hot compared to all the Blah Black interiors America and Europe has put in auto's. Love both exterior colors, I hope they go into production as I think these would sell well here in the U.S. I can see them doing it as that front end is so well balanced compared to what BMW and Mercedes has put out that is not hitting it with the masses. The athletic stance with graceful luxury makes me see a balance that we have not had in many luxury cars, though I will also say that Cadillac V edition has this balance too imho.

Today at the SEOUL Mobility 2025 Show Genesis revealed their X Gran Coupe and Convertible Concepts. Genesis stated this is another step in the future of the Luxury division towards redefining automotive luxury and performance. This New Era of Genesis is dedicated to their global customers in sharing their aspirations for Cars and SUVs. Genesis focused on these two cars that they believe will deliver what people are wanting in a car for the launchpad of driving in a new decade as Genesis looks to release new models that embody their pursuit of high-performance technology and future luxury design. Genesis stated that these two concepts took inspiration from the greater Mediterranean area. Specifically, the coupe was inspired by the Mediterranean olive tree and the convertible by southern European wines. These Genesis concepts are additional interpretation of the G90 series of Luxury cars. The Coupe showcases the Genesis way of elegance with athleticism while the convertible showcases the freedom of expression with connection to the surrounding environment. The X Coupe and X Convertible Concepts are adorned with Genesis’ characteristic Two-Line headlights, which extend toward the iconic Genesis Crest Grille. The 3D grille meshes are inspired by woven metal strings arranged in diamond-shaped Two-Line patterns. The wide lower air intakes with sculpted grille meshes emphasize the sporty character of the vehicles, while the elongated hoods create a dynamic silhouette. The widened Two-Line headlights extend to the fenders, visually enhancing the increased track width. Side profiles and wheel designs were purpose built to enforce a muscular dramatic stance for these cars. Aesthetics was also not forgotten as Genesis took a high-tech approach with flush Genesis logos and hidden retractable cameras, touch-less operations such as the trunk. From the olive tree use of veneer wood accents to crystal accents that convene a captivating display of light to bring warmth into the interior cabin, these concepts were paired with soft materials using recovered materials including wastewater used in the tanning process of the leather seats that gives a natural olive oil scent for the Coupe and a natural Cabernet Sauvignon for the convertible. These G90 Concepts in lush colors contrast drastically with the recently shown G90 Sedan Black Edition. Motivation in both cars is from the current G90 Twin-Turbo V6 that produces 409 horsepower, 405 lb-ft of torque with a 48V electric supercharger.

Genesis News: Genesis debuts a Long Wheelbase G90 Black Edition
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Genesis
Actually they are not as heavy as you would think and the Class 8 industry is already moving to electric trailers as the weight of the trailer does not get that much heavier but seriously reduces fuel consumption in traditional diesel trucks and reduces emissions. Fuel consumption in traditional Diesel trucks reduces by 36.3% https://newatlas.com/automotive/range-energy-electrified-trailer/ For consumers we already have options in this market: eStream Concept Travel Trailer | Airstream Electrifying Adventure 7 All Electric Trailers Hitting the Market | RV Obsession I think in time especially using in-wheel hub motors, I can see pretty much all trailers having motors and either using the power from the towing auto battery pack or having a small pack that helps to drive the trailer motors. -
We'll I would say Tesla is falling farther and farther behind in technology for the EV industry. The Disappointing Truth About Tesla's 4680 Battery Cell.. | Watch This is a surprise that Honda has released an actual production solid-state battery plant. What Honda’s Solid-State Battery Breakthrough Tells About The Future Of EV Tech The fact that Honda like Hyundai has actual Prototype production assembly lines up and running ahead of Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, VW, etc. would tend to indicate they could deliver solid-state battery tech sooner to EVs than others.

Genesis News: Genesis debuts a Long Wheelbase G90 Black Edition

I can see those battery packs for the HD series of SUV's / Trucks that would normally be a diesel pulling a trailer, now AWD EV pulling same trailer. Makes me think that eventually we will see horse, cow, etc. trailers with built in electric motors to help push the trailer up and over passes to ease the drain on the battery pack, but I still see large battery pack for specific use cases. -

Genesis News: Genesis debuts a Long Wheelbase G90 Black Edition
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Genesis
Considering that Solid-State batteries are supposed to be 4 times as energy dense, I see no reason for a 50kW battery size of today's battery to not have a 600-mile range as that would then be a 200-kW solid state battery in the size of a 50-kW lithium liquid battery. Yet with that said, the faster charging speed as Drew and I have stated about Solid-State batteries should make much smaller batteries just fine once we have a 5 min charge cycle that people keep swearing all gas autos have which they do not. -
Excellent!!!

Interesting is that 6 of my coworkers all traded in their Tesla's and bought new EVs over the weekend. 2 Hyundai, 3 Kia and 1 Lucid. I wonder where these used Tesla's are going to go as people are not wanting to buy them even used.

To get the 5-star side impact rating, I have noticed the higher belt line, giving a bunker look to the cars and reducing visibility out the side. I am wondering if there is just cheapness from the engineers as my EV9 has a 5-star side impact rating and I do not have the bunker look but a traditional large green house, so how do they feel this is a good look, sucks IMHO. I feel GM and Stellantis have moved to a bunker look and it takes away from the nice flowing style of an auto. Update: Makes me wonder, is it really that much cheaper to engineer a safe side impact auto with a high belt line over a more traditional beltline like my current ev9. Interesting question.

While one could say this is political in posting, I am focusing on the Tesla protest and what could be another ERON in the making. Over 200 ‘Tesla Takedown’ protests take place throughout US on ‘Global Day of Action’ against Elon Musk’s role with DOGE | CNN Business Protesters rally at Tesla showrooms in U.S., Europe to protest Elon Musk All peaceful here in Washington State, but the Tesla stores all had 200 to 300 people at each one, major protest against the auto brand. Tesla stock and sales worldwide have fallen. Many are calling for his firing from Tesla to hire a CEO focused on the auto business. Then we have news of missing money from Tesla with nothing but excuses from Musk. Tesla is somehow missing $1.4 billion Musk calls SSA a Ponzi scheme and yet we now have this manipulation of stock after moving a billion dollars in GPU's to xAI which also does not seem to be accounted for at Tesla. xAI Buys X in Blockbuster Deal. Elon Musk Found a Way to Win the Twitter Deal. So, one has to question and wonder. Is Tesla the next ENRON to explode and take everyone's money leaving Musk with his other companies paid for by looting Tesla, an EV auto company that is now behind other companies in the world. Chinese, Korean and German auto companies are making better EVs than Tesla. Will Tesla survive as an independent company till 2030? Politics are a very emotional area, but a bigger thing to focus on here in the trade war for the U.S. and for the growth of EVs is how will Tesla survive or will it? I honestly can see the Tesla Supercharger Station business surviving no problem as an Independant company.
