Have to say that while Kia does not have a really good video on the EV4 Hatchback / Sedan, mostly focused on the sedan, this is great of both.

I am not WOW, awesome looking, but as @Drew Dowdell pointed out, the pictures are worse than the video. Amazing all the people that love it though on the Kia Youtube account and want it or so they say.

Interesting to see the sales figures for California. Tesla’s California Freefall Could Signal A Bigger EV Crisis

Yet, it looks far sleeker than the Bentley did. Bentley Dominator was just awkward to me. I like this concept fender flairs and what appears to be a huge Frunk. Overall the outside is a far better style than this Bentley. Interior I like except for the huge wall between the driver and front passenger. A bit overdone, but then they are going for the Land Rover / Discovery meets Bentley

Subaru News: Subaru Reveals new 2026 Subaru Trailseeker
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Subaru
Curiosity is always a good thing. As such, took a look and discovered that Mercedes Hide their CLA EV in the overall CLA press release. The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA: gorgeous, effortless, intuitive and flexible. So first off, their claim to half that range in 10 minutes, full 80% in 20 minutes, this is based on a continuous 500-amp DC Fast charger. 350 kW chargers are not 500-amp chargers in all situations. As such, it is highly unlikely that these all new 800V EVs from Mercedes will actually charge as fast as they say they can. The press release pretty much says without saying it that if all the stars align, and you get a continuous 500-amp DC charger, you can get a considered full battery pack in 20 min. Yet then they say they have limited the auto to a maximum of 320 kW charging. So, there is no way it can charge as fast as they say the battery pack can handle due to the charging speed limitation. I find it interesting that many of the specifications seem to mirror the Koreans. Maybe they actually used Korean as well as Tesla to benchmark since the 400V lineup of EVs are dead now. As a NMC battery pack, it will be interesting to see their charging curve in regard to how fast it hits it maximum speed of charging and when it starts to taper off since this is all new technology for Mercedes. The press release implies that it will be an inverted U for the most part, but NMC do not always handle a constant high voltage charge, so it really will be interesting to see how their charging plays out. Interesting is that standard controller for home charging is 11 kW but you can buy an upgrade controller to have 22 kW. Nice option, but for a luxury maker just like Cadillac, I hate these upgrade controllers to get the best home charging experience. Your already paying a premium, give me the goods.- 30 replies

Will be interesting to see as Canada and Mexico are to get it. Seems tariffs and possible overlap in their EV portfolio might have some reason for it not coming here. I honestly think it would sell very well. I wonder size in comparison to the EV6. I have not seen any dimensions yet.

VW News: Volkswagen Adds More Turbo to Tiguan
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Volkswagen
Agree, that is such a superior interior over the U.S. basic Black everything even in top line performance models. So, over all black interior. I do like the green exterior color too, nice that it matches more of the ID family of style on the exterior. -
Today at the New York International Auto Show, Genesis unveiled the Genesis X Gran Equator Concept. A imagining of the "Athletic Elegance" design philosophy while embracing the rugged over-landing experience. Genesis has stated that this is a harmonizing contrast of elegance with ruggedness, refined comfort while embracing the spirit of exploration. Quoting Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer for Genesis, “It represents the orchestration of true off-road competence and uncompromising luxury, designed to enable the discovery of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes.” Defying traditional SUV looks, the X Gran Equator Concept delivers clean lines on an uncluttered surface. A long hood, sleek cabin, and fast C-pillar create a silhouette that defies traditional SUV conventions, while dark wheel-arch cladding and 24-inch bead lock wheels underscore its off-road readiness. The geometric auxiliary lamps and split-opening tailgate blend practicality with Genesis’ signature Two-Line headlamps, ensuring the X Gran Equator is as purposeful as it is striking. Orchestrating contrast between analog architecture and digital technologies, crafting a space that feels both functional and evocative. At the center of the cabin is a four-circle display cluster on the center stack, inspired by the dials of vintage cameras. The interior design features contrasting colors and shapes, with a preference for geometric over organic elements. The dashboard's linear architecture and absence of decorations focus the driver's attention on the journey ahead, while swiveling front seats and modular storage solutions enhance practicality. A symbol of endurance, agility, and refined power is what Genesis has stated they delivered in the name Equator, widely recognized as the "finest stallion" in the world of Arabian horses. This concept is an expansion of the Genesis lifestyle-oriented vehicles, balancing versatility with sophistication. The design language and innovative features, such as integrated roof rails, split-opening tailgate, showcases the future design potential of Genesis as it takes on the luxury brands of the world. Genesis has not confirmed production but will be paying attention to consumer feedback as this concept travels the auto show circuit.

This will do very well in the PNW even as the PNW goes heavy with EVs, this is such a popular brand here. -

Subaru News: 2026 Subaru Solterra Gets Important Upgrades
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Subaru
It is interesting to see how the picture angle can change the look. Head on, your right ugly, but from an angle much better as I posted current year versus new year models. I like the new better than the old without all that awful black plastic. -
Subaru News: 2026 Subaru Solterra Gets Important Upgrades

Very cool to see a design that does not just show it to be a badge copy of Toyota. Be interesting to see what folks think of this new style of Nose. 2025 first and the newly anounced 2026 model. At least with the charge port on the front Passenger fender now rather than the Drivers side, it will make it easy to pull into a Tesla Charging spot and reach with their shorter charge cables. -
Yes, Globally their family of Brands has seen double digit fall due to poor quality, old tech, etc. Will be interesting to see what brands they cut from the U.S. as I can see them closing the Chrysler lineup as well as Masarati and Alfa Romeo. Now that we have 245% tariff on all things Chinese, that is going to hurt the auto industry even more. https://www.newsweek.com/china-245-trump-tariff-2060295

Excited to have this in the market as an alternative to the Tesla 3. Not a fan of the coupe sedan look. One area that I feel is a let down is the 400V system used on this rather than the original 800V system that is found in the higher level trims. Kia should had led with having this a fast 18 min 800V charge to 80% imho. Interior I am happy with, spacious.
