  1. I heard the 3.9L VVT OHV V6 or the "new" Vortec V6 to replace the 4.3L V6 in trucks and also to go into the next generation of Colorado/Cayon (Global Small Pickups). The 3.6L VVT I have heard was to expensive to produce and too also keep in my mind they want to keep costs way down on base/low-end models. A base 'Stang is only about 20K. They said to put the DOHC V6 in there would cost more than a base V6 model should be.

  2. Obviously, and the V8 isn't dying anytime soon. So why are we discussing this? There are more V8 powered vehicles than there were 10 years ago even. Also fuel economy of all vehicles is going up due to modern technology, such as extra gears in transmissions and AFM/DOD. So I don't see why we keep beating a dead horse to death. I will only have a 4 cylinder in a vehicle that it can power well and give good performance.

  3. They think it will have a 3.9L OHV VVT V6 and a manual and automatic offered. Color wise and performance on the V6 as far as options I have no clue. But an RS model like Pony Package on Mustang would make sense.

  4. I never liked the STS because to get the extra balls you needed the V8. Not so anymore with 302hp the V6 is plenty for me! Sure the V6 isn't as sweet as a V8 when it comes time to listen to the roar. But I can forgive that and 18hp for 9 grand. The STS is more of a compelling choice than ever. I like it alot more, but your right needs the SLS interior! (RIGHT NOW!) I still think I would favor an STS over the next CTS, although for the price difference I would have a hard time.

  5. I can understand what your saying but with the interior on this sucker, I doubt it is really going "backwards". Bob said they are re-evaluating it. Also listen some Buick dealers chimed in and said you never asked us, and now we want it. It became clear to me that if you are a Buick dealer without Cadillac then you prolly would want it more-so and if you have Cadillac then you wouldn't.

  6. I personally I think if they can sell a few more car why? Not and get the idea of a new Park Avenue over here why not. Many of us were very bummed after we found out it wasn't for us. Are we changing our minds now? I still say bring and it even if its sells 5,000 more Buicks in this country it is worth it. :AH-HA_wink:

Sounds like were getting low volume import. They are re-evaluating it, sounds like a low volume below 5,000 import kind of thing. Also Bob sounds excited about a TRUE Buick flagship. I say do it. A few more cars is better than none at all. I already like the Lucerne CXL V8/CXS and DTS this would make it tricky for me to make a choice!

    Options are good after-all right?

  7. A $40k car with a $20k rear end... yea that'll bode real well for Buick's image.

The Chinese Park Avenue is good...

but not that good. I will call it out now- if this car ever gets sold in the US it will be the most amazing flop in Buick history most likely even selling less than the Reattas. When someone has 40k to spend on a vehicle they will not spend it on an Impala rear-end. I don't care how nice the interior is or the fact that the front end is relatively aggressive and unique...

There is nothing sincerely impressive about this vehicle to sell it at the price of two Impalas or 4 Aveos. Nothing.

Whatever is to replace this Park Avenue in China should be specifically Buick and sold in both US and China. Too late to cart this 70% good 30% bad vehicle over here because in a year it'll be 60/40 and the following year nobody will even think twice about it anymore.

Sir I hope your wrong and I most certainly beg to differ. :scratchchin:
