  1. for 512mb ram and a 60gb hdd i'd be surprised if you had to spend more than $130....

    what speed is the celeron?....(wondering if it's a P3 or a P4 derivative)

I'll have to find that out....

    I know it's a few years old...

  2. I don't understand why they are killing the Monte Carlo so soon, with the W-Body Impala continuing. It's not like sales have dropped drasticaly. Also, too bad the Uplander is the only minivan surviving. They killed them off from best looking to worst, leaving the ugliest turd for last.

From what I heard, they plan to really cut back the Ws this year...

partly from crappy sales, the other reason being to make room for the Mailbu, which will be getting close in size anyways..

I also expect more Impys, and lots of GPs in renatl fleets this year....

  3. I wouldn't have considered a Saturn either, not because they weren't good cars, but because they just weren't my style.

Now I find myself drooling over the Aura and the new Astra.

I feel that quite a few people feel they way I do....

  4. I could be getting a older Dell Laptop in the next few weeks..for cheap.

Downside is, that it is a celeron(not that big of a deal) 256k of memory, and a 20gb hard drive.

Would it be worth it to upgrade it? And not cost me an arm and a leg?

I plan use it for school-related stuff, so it doesn't have to be powerful....

  5. This show actually sucked pretty badly. He is the only reason I actually enjoyed it. Performance World is much better and bigger but they are similar to Autorama. He was actually pretty nice. I don't think he would be able to overhaul my old Beretta lol. I made some money off of it because someone in town needed a parts car. That got me $500. Maybe I will call him after I get the Sunfire. BTW, SS623, I got that Camaro shirt from GM at Woodward. It is a pretty sweet shirt.

    Cool shirt....

    You're getting a Sunfire?

  6. That sucks....

I can understand where YD is coming from, but if you're still paying on it, heck, you want it to look good...

On our newer car-I'd fix it 20 times..(may have to at this rate)

My beater, on the other hand, as long as the bumper doesn't come off... :scratchchin:

(still in one piece, barring the curse..)

  7. The only 'uniqueness' Saturn has lost that is tangible to consumers are polymer panels, but most people were too ignorant to realize the panel gaps on plastic-bodied Saturns were the result of using polymer panels, not poor fitment.

    Agreed.

  8. It it means success, then by all means, Saturn should die.

And develop a "funky" new soul.

Funky, of course, being the new look.

The old saturn was doing pretty decent, but left the way it was, would have died a slow death.

Heck, Kia would have started looking better...

They are great, kick butt cars....but now the new ones are packed with style, and still kick butt.

GM needed to save money, so sharing makes more sense.

  9. ABS, AWD, Traction controll, and all these other drivers aids are no replacement for brains, and they cannot defy the laws of physics. You hit the brakes to fast or too hard on a slippery surface, you're not going to stop. You hit the gas too hard, your back end will try to drive out past your front end, or vice versa, and you will end up somewhere you don't want to be.

I know this and I live someplace it doesn't even snow. Not only that, the three times that I have driven in snow or ice out of town, I was driving better than most of the locals.

I've seen Volvos samshed good by dumb people...

  10. go to the parts counter at a dealership since they will tell you the part number if you ask for it and if they ask you to buy them be like I'm going to think about it and try to find the parts cheaper or whatever. Unless if you want top pay dealer prices. Which are $50 us for a Belt and $35 us for a simple gas cap i don't even want to know what major parts cost.

    Yep.

  11. so we finally get a bunch of snow with in 15 minutes of driving i see a blazer wrapped around a telephone pole and jeep into a tree.

I guess people don't know that you cant do 30 down side streets when its snowy out. Unnecessary loss of cars really. In the intersections people wait for the last 5 feet and brake only to realize there on ice. and go across the intersection. What happened to basic knowledge? Michigan has been getting snow for millions of years now. Its like its the first time people saw the stuff.

It's Michigan, what do you expect? :AH-HA_wink:

  12. like granny that ran into 5 parked cars at krogers cause they had a 10 for 10 sale on progresso soup. and yahoo's that think there 4x4 trucks and jeeps can still do 70 cause its a Off road vehicle.

I was going down 6 mile...cars were passing me like I was standing still...even with snow still on the road...

I forgot that a little salt lets you drive faster....

  13. My car sucks in this stuff, but I'm learning to effectively use the e-brake. :)

    Sport tires...lots of fun....

It's times like this I love my little wagon...light, traction is good, has abs(works well), and my little v6 has enough power to move around well even in heavy snow... 8)

    I love winter beaters...

  14. That's good taht it was nothing too serious...I had a battery issue with the Intrepid. I was lucky to get it started and drive the 30 minute commute home. Turned out in addition to corrosion on one of the terminals it was putting out a faction of what it's supposed to. Had it replaced and things have been going fine. At least the Venture broke down at the dealership and not the middle of nowhere...fine place to have a breakdown :P

    Very true.

Makes me worry about my dad's venture....

Seems to be quite good now, at 40k...
