  1. You're a smart one.
  2. Yes, I am quite pissed at the crimped greenhouse in a lot of GM cars. Chief among the culprits whithin GM is good old Pontiac. Yes, both the G6 and the Grand Prix take up the belt line way high compared to their predecessors. This does not make for the optimal driving experience, though I have yet to rent/drive a G6. Also, have you seen the latest C/R in which the Charger is reviewed? They point this out for the Charger rear seating area as well. In fact, it shows an adult whose head is barely visible. Auto designers - come back to angular slab sides and fuller greenhouses.
  3. Let's try again... West Palm Beach... (think C&G, now)
  4. It's being taped. I'm a geek - I'm currently in the university library working on a paper due tomorrow for a grad business class with a girl who is in my group.
  5. Yeah, she's a tough one all right. In fact, this came through on an interview. I have an issue with tough broads. They can be castrating and I want to keep both of my testicles. By the way, I think she's...yes...a Hoosier (hear that, Croc)?
  6. West Palm Beach...
  7. I can only do a few words. Whatever Paul Hogan has said along the way. The latter - is that similar to homo erectus?
  8. No, just one of my favorite expressions for people who are in a crappy mood or some object that isn't working. Onward.
  9. You are all hopeless! I was looking for ON THE... RAG

I get it! You simply "whack" on the cologne.
  13. I will try to keep this as apolitical as possible. I definitely vote for the candidate. I am non partisan. There is no party that represents where I stand so I have no choice. I would either be a conservative Democrat or a liberal Repulican. Liberal Democrats and consevative Republicans scare me...they are too far off on either side of the continuum to best address the variety of issues. I had a real problem with Al Gore. I wanted the Clinton dynasty to end. And I don't think that Hilary has a chance. She will not have the Repulican popular vote and she most likely will not get a large part of the Democratic male popular vote. I hope I am right. Somebody (maybe Stephanapoulos) wrote a book and alluded to her vulgar crudeness in and around the White House. (I would not expect any politician to be nice...you're not supposed to be.) She is truly the "sn*tc* du jour" from what I can deduce. As for California, I wish that Cruz Bustamante (D) was governor instead of Arnold ( R). I really don't like that someone with his background (no background) is the governor of the most populous state in the union. I think that Gray Davis's problems were partly bad management and partly bad timing.
  14. Funny, definitely. I can't quite gauge whether your area of PA is conservative or close enough to the urban centers to be liberal to where that would go over. I, personally, would find it amusing.

$h!, if Chanel makes Allure, they might as well make LaCrosse. After all, Ralph Lauren makes Polo. :AH-HA_wink:
  16. I thought it was a mixture of Latin roots (all the romance languages) and Teutonic roots (the German you refer to). German can be a stretch. Their words are so God damn long. For example, in English we say "auditor." In German, they say "wirtschartsprufer" (can't forget the 2 dots on top of the u). Yikes. So, instead I made it a point to learn all of the Latin rooted languages (except Romanian) since I already spoke one of them as a child. The similarities and differences are fascinating...at least to me. No one has yet commented on: "He's good people." "She's good people." That's nails on the chalkboard stuff to me.
  17. Crap, I forgot - I can also do the East Indian accent (it's hilariously musical) and general purpose Asian.

    BLEH!

It's not whether it's cool or not. It's what works for you. Everybody's got different boundaries. As for a pet, I seriously hope you entertain getting another one. They are extremely therapeutic. And, from what I've seen, they're better than most people. My college friend who went to my school but lives in SD says dogs are "the perfect human beings." I'd own one but, as much as I like to travel, it wouldn't be fair to the animal. Cheer up. It's a new year...for even the Chinese (since it's February).

    BLEH!

PB, I don't know whether or not you will listen to my advice because I tend to flip you some $h! at every opportunity.First, this is your place of work. You need to think of the "what ifs" and what that could mean for your job. I assume you have obligations and the like. I have been propositioned several times in the workplace since the time I left college because people think of my laid-back goofiness as "safe"...by both chicks and guys, for that matter...and I shrug it off, never bring it up and go on as if it never happened so as to not taint the work relationship. Most recently, 2 girls who are pretty fresh out of college come into my office and "hang" there. One has asked me to come see her condo. I am uncomfortable with it for a couple of reasons - 1. we work together, and 2. the age difference. So, I just laugh at their comments and keep looking into my monitor and draft away as they talk to me, hoping they will diplomatically get the message. Second, are you and this co-worker already friends? Can you handle being friends with this person? There's nothing wrong with friendship. There's a lot to be said for it. Be cool. Now, I will definitely rent "40 yo Virgin." I've been wanting to see it.
  21. I grew up in this kaleidoscopic multi-ethnic city, so my friend's parents, people in high school/college and neighbors provided fuel for the fire. Here's my list: Cuban - this is Ricky Ricardo talk, this is NOT a Mexican accent. I love it. It's my favorite. Iranian-Middle Eastern - perfected from LA experiences - make damn sure you leave out articles in front of nouns whenever possible. I once asked this Middle Eastern guy at a party where he was from. His response: "I leev een Bay Area." I had meant which country he came from, but that's ok. I can't drive through Concord on 680 without muttering that to myself. Southern - it's great and it can be so affected. I love those Southerners who call Dr. Laura and put the Christian bent in there ... when she's Jewish. Southernisms are great. OK, I won't use the "E" word, some African American street slang...with inflection. There are 2 guys I work with and we will go to lunch every other week at a pizza place we like and "ham" this one up in the car on the way over there and back as if it's a ritual. German - to some extent. It's so guttural....it's great. Remember Dr. Ruth? My hero. New York - one of my favorites. Perfected because just about every Italian and Jewish person who hung out with my parents in LA came from there...and never lost the accent. A co-worker who is from Port Washington L.I. says mine is a Jewish/Queens version. Accents I cannot do: Irish brogue, French, Australian, Minnesota/Scandinavian, New England
  22. It's crEEk...as in Walnut Creek (where I wish I lived) Crick is Hick. Get over it.
  23. I spell check EVERYBODY's posts. It's a "good time." People in my office use me to edit their memos, letters, etc. I guess it can be taken as a compliment.
  24. I hope you're not talking to me. It doesn't seem like it.
  25. Shouldn't be a surprise. The EPA sticker on 3400 Montes and Impalas has been 21/32 for several years. And it delivered that. On mine, the EPA sticker was 18/28 and that's what it returns. Keep in mind, that 1 or 2 mpg difference over a year make a minimal dent in your wallet. You should drive what you like.
