  1. That's a cute cat...and I'm a dog person. Pantho, how about snagging a deal on an entry level 'Bu - they have good room for all of you and they shouldn't be THAT much more than a Cobalt. I've rented them and they ride and track fairly well (except for the electric steering that many of you dog...I didn't think it was THAT bad).
  2. I'm sure it's an heirloom...like a lot of Buicks. It is also a good looking Buick...the past LeSabre was seriously frumpy and the PA was just ok...I didn't care for the bulbousness of the greenhouse. I will have to find an occasion to drive it or an opportunity to rent one (or whine my way into an upgrade).
  3. Good. I do this about every 18,000 to 20,000 and I guess it's served me well. When the dealer runs the $ 89 coupon, I go get it done. If I've done 10x, then $ 890 is still way cheaper than to overhaul one of these units.

  5. Turbo, you're way more L.A. than Chicago...listen to this stuff...now c'mon, admit you like LaLaLand.

  8. 1992 Buick Regal coupe - 3800 V6 (Series I, there were no series at that time), one owner (me), 222,000 miles. Right you are! One can't call the 3800 V6 crap. Surprised to see that your engine exhibited trouble before the transmission. I always thought these transes were good for only 100,000 to 150,000. What was your service interval for the transmission to get to a quarter million miles? I am getting no oil consumption in between oil changes...maybe a 1/4 of a quart at the most. Transmission fluid always stays at a light pink color and shifts so you almost don't notice it. Certain interior components are a little frayed but the body is in good shape and the silver color has held up remarkably well. No, I don't win the oldest car award, just the best. :AH-HA_wink: :AH-HA_wink:

  12. Damn, doesn't ANYBODY like Greek food? Just my lonely vote thus far? Never have been a conformist. Food I won't go near: Thai and Indian. Thai (even with NO stars for spiciness) sends me back to office with my head feeling like it's going to explode...it's not for me.
  13. OK...I can see where this is going...a private over the back yard fence conversation between Long Island and Eastern PA...indeed... a conversation between 2 of the 5 or so C&Gers I like to give the most grief to. Cheer up, gents.
  14. No way, Reg, I will be having nightmares. I can't believe I once shared the same city (Portland OR) with her. Tonya appears to have gotten matronly .... she is and always will be the "Queen of White Trash." Hasselhoff has to go, too...along with his poofy hair. Good God...what decade is that from? I don't know who the two above Tonya are, so care to elaborate. The one in the middle appears to have a high butch quotient...ouch.
  15. Park (it used to be, anyway)
  16. Riv, the last time I was down there (beyond just a change of planes) was April 2003 - the Augusts I have spent there were in the mid 1990s. I'm due for another trip.At any rate, your white with gray comments extends to rentals as well. The nicest color for the LaCrosse COULD be the Glacier Blue Metallic, except it has no depth. It is, as you said in a post a while back, anemic. Good choice of words. Every car I have ever owned has been light metallic blue except for my current vehicle which is silver. One reason I won't do the CXL is because of the leather interior. Shorts + 100 degrees + leather = yikes! Funny, though, that the Allure CXL sold to our neighbors to the north is outfitted in cloth. (Where's that damn Canadian icon when you need it?)

  19. Totally agree. Reg, you are a bona-fide "horndog."
  20. I think the Lucerne is a WONDERFUL car. Good going, Buick! It's a little bigger than I like to pilot around. I will probably go GP first, especially if they de-demonize the front a little bit, but I will also consider the LaCrosse CX, since I do think a grille adjustment is coming down the pike. I'm going for the basic $ 23,000 sled. The nice thing about a Buick product is the 4 year warranty to Pontiac's 3 year warranty. Oh, to your comment about white -- it's fine if it's no cost and certainly, in Florida, it's a nice color to have...I've been in your area on several occasions in August and white exterior/gray interior helps mitigate the intensity of the So. Fla. summer.
  21. He is NOT a big client. The job for him is almost done. Aside from these 4 minute flaws, the drawings given to him were very good. He gives us work from time to time. I will probably tell the main guy at work what occurred and couch it carefully...since he seems to have my ear to some extent. I'll also tell him to assign someone else to his project on the next go around.

  24. Ha ha. Either that or Splenda. It's a tacked on bonus for enticement. Like bumping me from $2,222 to $3,000 when, per the formula, I'm only entitled to $2,222...on the cars I'm looking for. I think another one will come around in 6 to 9 months.
