  1. Those are cool, as is the Orange Blast SS.
  2. Cadillac has a wealth of proprietary colors to mine. '58 Somerset Blue : '54-55 Pinehurst Green :
  3. mercedes can't do it, Tesla can't do it, GM won't do it, but lookit how it's done: That said, those yellow calipers against that barney purple paint is hideous.
  4. ^ I endorse choices, tho personally I would never buy a vehicle with that color interior.
  5. didn't mercedes drop a fuel injected I-6 to put an anemic carbureted 4-banger in their so-called 'sports car' back in the height of the muscle car horsepower wars? Maybe mercedes should put a turbo 4 in their AMGGT, you know; to increase sales. They could charge $29.9K, call it the AAMGGT.
  6. Corvette offered 640 HP 10 years ago.
  7. It's not up to you to define. Sorry.
  8. Again with this?!?!?
  9. Unlimited colors doesn't seem to be the case with there Maybach trim. [L to R] ~ black, black, black, silver, silver, dark red, dark green, grey, grey, white, red... and seven 2-tone combos of those colors. So... 7 colors, basically. Well, it is 2 more than the Model S. ?
  10. Black is classic; the 'LBD' in your automotive closet- gotta have. More colors would be nice, yes; even if just a contrasting color against a black/charcoal. But leave the bright blues & greens & the terrible browns in the '70s.
  11. 'Often'.... perhaps. Public transport doesn't run always or everywhere. Hard data would be great, in fact; OEMs and Big Gov't should be looking directly at that before those folk are forced into a dwindling & aging pool of used IC vehicles. More & more in the construction field I see 'own transportation required' - I think the days of running around to pick up workers is falling into the bygone era.
  12. Interesting theory… anyone know (or care…) if that’s true?
  13. Whew, that’s certainly a line from way back! ’Younger buyer = great necessity’ is a fallacy. ABA follows the general population trends; Lamborghini ABA is about 48 yrs. ‘They’ were saying Cadillac needed younger buyers or it would be soon gone…. in 1975. Corvette C8 made an earth-shattering leap onto supercar relevancy (if there were actually a methodology of charting such); your wish has been granted.
  14. Is it also a "F'em!" when they live in a high rise or park on the street? Are they supposed to dangle extension cords out their 5th floor windows??
  15. But that's completely irrelevant to the image & legacy of the Mustang. - - - - - I don't know- we need long-term data to analyze. I stand firm on my rock; do not sully the names of iconic models with family-hauler versions. Just don't.
  16. ^ You think the Mach-E is pulling Mustang GT / GT500 owners away from their coupes??
  17. @David : you only show 1 factory paint job, tho Robert hit all 3. Most factory 2-tone jobs follow hard body lines or have delineating trim (ala the F-150). I just find the Maybach's 'break line' to be arbitrary & awkward, esp how it hits the headlights. Doesn't look factory to me, it looks like a 'one-off'.
  18. I'm not in that market... but I was speaking to the 'big picture' of image/ legacy/ enthusiasts/ etc.
  19. Porsche was smart enough to protect the image of the 911... especially in light of never have ANY SUV before. I'll bet most 911 buyers would never consider having a Cayenne/Macan.
  20. Problem is- it's not going to be at the same price point distribution; the majority of confirmed upcoming BE's are priced above the median new vehicle ATP. But I disagree; most don't care if they have a V6 or a turbo 4 because their operational interface is identical for both. Many consumers are resistant to significant operational changes... and for some- BEs simply won't work at all.
  21. And a Corvette isn’t an AWD 4-dr SUV, so they aren’t part of the same family either, right? By all means build a hyper-powerful ‘sporty SUV’…. Just. Don’t. Put. Corvette. In. The. Name.
  22. Anybody know why Porsche didn’t name the Cayenne the -say- ‘911-X’ ??
  23. Dreaming is good. Unrealistic planning by OEMs for the future; not so much. Gotta stay grounded…
  24. Nothing dates a car harder than a nice, 1970’s 2-tone paint job!
