Same to you, Ocn - and everyone here at C&G.
2012 just has to be a better year.

Happy Birthday, Roger!

Definitely not my second gen Camaro...

Last one sucked too many lemons
the 'roo catchers are huge!
I second that.
Mad Max.

I just can't love the sedans, even in vintage trim.
If it's a sedan, it almost has to be a true antique for me to care.

Next time get it balanced better than stock if your gonna remove the governor for a high speed run. Hot rod 101 for dummies
The guy is right though... the governor has to do with the tire rating... its not there because Ford thinks the car will crap out at 114... though, it appears it does crap out at 135. And considering that there were no SEVERE vibrations leading up to failure, I'd say no amount of balancing would have prevented the destruction.
I imagine that the V6 and V8 get different diameter driveshafts and the V6 one is flexing so bad at 135 that it tore apart.
Honestly, its my opinion that Ford is at fault here... if you put 300hp in a V6, the driveshaft should be up to snuff. However, Ford will not own up to this because the governor was removed.
Its a enthusiasts' car, though, and governors are going to be removed.
Cars were sold for years without governors and I've never heard of a driveshaft blowing apart on the top end... the engines always ran out of steam first.
Have to agree, the driveshaft should not have failed.

Cheers.
I'd love to find this in my driveway on Christmas morning.

Thanks guys

I like...sounds like something Roger Waters would have written....
It also wouldn't be out of place on a King Crimson record.
Thanks, YJ.
I guess my influences are showing.
That said, it wasn't written as a lyric. It does seem to want to be one though.

I may give this to a band that has been asking for lyrics...

Thanks Cubitar, that is one hell of a serious compliment.
It is only the second time I've ever posted any of my stuff here, and I really wondered what you all would think of it.

I like the stealthy nature of Firebird Formulas, more than Trans Ams a lot of years.
This.

Brown shirts in halls of power
again
Furtive and scheming
Preparing
Too soon yet for false glory and symbol
Too soon for open declarations and edict
Furtive still
and prevailing
Slow erosions and sharp affronts
Wrapped in cloaks of safety to hide their faces
Sleeping the sleep of slow poisons
Not hearing the cries of warning
Not learning from the brutal past
We turn our heads and refuse to see
Silent now is the fourth estate
compromised and broken
As its own freedom drains away
As it capitulates
Two centuries on
and that golden dawn of wisdom and reason
no longer shines in enough souls
We forget ourselves
We forget the dangers
We allow the dismantling
In our turning away
we invite ugly tomorrows

Well, I had a bit of a rough day today, and your video put a big, stupid grin on my face.
Thanks.

Ugh.
Did Chrysler hire the same clown that came up with the "G" names for Pontiac or something?

It's all a case of transition - in this case a transition to something largely unknown.
What you have interpreted as being "too late", may in fact be very early. How journalism will adapt to the realities of today and tomorrow is still being sorted out. But, as Fappy has pointed out, the need will always be there.
The panic and confusion you are feeling today is simply a reflection of changing times in the face of new realities. Yes, it is likley to be messy for some time yet. However, if you dedicate yourself to the discipline of journalism now, you may get to see all of the changes from the inside.
What better position to be in when things solidify?

Wierd...from the wording of the ad, it sounds like the same nutjob that was trying to sell the four door sedan pickup thingy w/ 8 rear wheels that was here a few days ago..
I noticed that as well.

Perhaps they were given to a member of your family, or even picked up 2nd hand rather than being monogramed for the family member directly.
I have a TON of stuff that were I suddenly gone all SORTS of questions as to 'why' & 'how' I had it would bubble up.
Yup.
And I like to answer those questions if I can.
For these, I think I'm at a dead end now. But at least I learned who made them, and when, and where.

I guess it could be...
No "C" names either though.

When this was listed before, it had a carfax link in the listing which showed that it started life as a G8 sedan. It also showed an accident with heavy rear-end damage.
So add in some Ute parts from Oz, and this one is explained.
