  1. What a monster! What would you do with it? I'm not cheering, or jeering... I'm gaping.
  2. I actually agree with this. Might not be a bad idea to offer a conventional version of the Converj to spread the costs even farther. The bodywork is dead-sexy, so why not?
  3. Seafoam and fresh gas made no difference (except the plugs got nice and clean). Threw in some new AC plugs - no change Re-did a ground wire - no change A friend is going to bring a scan tool by on Sunday, we'll see if that sheds any light.
  4. Trying some fresh premium gas and a sea foam treatment in case it was bad gas...
  5. Unfortunately, yes.
  6. Tossing that would be the first order of business when I brought it home.
  7. Nice car for the money - too bad it's a wuss-a-matic.
  8. Again, Sigma is Caddy-only. And as good as it is, it is only a tiny bright spot in the overall gloom that is RWD from GMNA in the last few decades. As for Holden, what they did is remarkable. They aren't a "performance division" of Opel, they took the Opel and completely re-engineered it, expanded it's range, re-powered it, re-bodied it, and exported it around the globe. Then they created Zeta, which is as good as, if not better than, Sigma. All the while, pre andf post Zeta they trounced Sigma's main target: BMW. GMNA dithers, Holden produces. That said, the real issue is that the idea of yanking the Commodore (and RWD in general), is simply indefensible.
  9. The Converj is the best-looking thing Cadillac has created in ages. FWD, or not Voltec powertrain, or not I sure hope that the ELR makes no changes to that beautiful design.
  10. The point is that GM's RWD expertise lives at Holden. Yanking the Commodore away from there would be absolutely stupid. In effect, it would be tantamount to signing Holden's death warrant - along with it's export business, and any hope for non-Cadillac RWD from GM.
  11. GMNA's track record on RWD speaks for itself - it's an ugly, bloody, unpleasant story of rotting on the vine, dashed hopes, and expensive mistakes. They forgot how to get it right. Holden remembers, because Holden never stopped.
  12. Not too bad looking, but not a coupe in any way, shape, or form.
  13. No Pony, but I did breifly entertain the notion of taking a third puppy (Duntov) when I picked the two out. Pretty glad now that I didn't.
  14. I think I need to have this thing hooked-up to a scan tool that can read the soft codes (if any have been set). Maybe the ECU after all?
  15. No, the cat is nothing but a big pipe at this point - so it wouldn't make any difference.
  16. An observation... Did the rear-most ports on the heads stay sealed/covered by the intake plenum gaskets? Would that matter? In case the pictures in the quoted text don't show up, I'm referring to the 5th and 6th photos in this post. Those are coolant ports, and are designed to be that way. I did a double-take when I first saw them too, but they are correct.
  17. Not so far. I pegged the early nineties as a cut-off in the first post.
  18. Swapped the distributor - problem is still there.
  19. Thanks, and yes he is a Malamute. I have two, Zora and his brother - Arkus.
  20. Limos aren't my thing, but this one is unique enough to be interesting. And, at the price it's sitting at, it is a screaming bargain.
  21. Saw this one coming a mile away... Congrats Ocn, hope you enjoy it.
  22. Thanks Ocn, it will be tough to see it go.
  23. Yup. Technically, it is Dodge Brothers, not simply Dodge. This is the last year of the Dodge Brothers name (pre-Chrysler).
  24. Yeah, the detailing is pretty cool on this old car. Thanks for the compliments.
  25. Nice!
