  1. What one product has the potential to turn the perception tide back in the favor of the domestics? Just one now.
  2. Good question. The one pictured sure does, but I'd guess that it may be an option.
  3. And one look at the raw sales numbers and you see just how far Toyota has to go to even be a real player.
  4. And you wonder why I hate California.
  5. Then I expect that you will be disappointed.
  6. One important categoryI need to add here is attractive and desireable cars like the Volt offering alternate fuel cabability and/or alternate forms of propulsion. I'm a big fan of using gaseous fuels in ICEs as an immediate approach that is quickly viable. Above all, whatever form these cars take, they have to provide us ALL with something we can enjoy as a car or they will ultimately fail. We can't let that happen. That means no wholesale run to microcars in the US - we really don't want them, so we need to innovate our way out of needing them.
  7. Two more! I think both of these are major opportunities.
  8. Can't disagree here either. Coupes are on my list as well.
  9. That's two from my list.
  10. And you can add "affordable" to that equation.
  11. My nominees: Compact Pickups as we currently know them. This segment is growing moss. Minivans (see above) Many, many SUVs will go away, hopefully the silliest ones first. Thanks for the compliment, dimitri0917.
  12. My God! What a slew of Toyota! I have a question, Mr. Griff. How is it that you have such an encyclopedic knowledge of the world's minicars? Just curious, as it is impressive.
  13. I have to add slab-sided cars - let's see more sculpting!
  14. What segment, bodystyle, configuration etc. is on its way out? What will dwindle to a few offerings or disappear entirely in the near future?
  15. What bodystyle, drivetrain, configuration, segment, or niche do you feel is unrepresented or under-represented in the US market?
  16. Just a guess, but to a Pontiac fan Grand Prix might have to be a coupe to deserve the name whereas Bonneville is a natural fit.
  17. BTW: The cab corner thing means it is rotted out where the rear of the rocker panels meet the back of the cab at the front of the bed. It's a common rot location on pickups as road debris tends to collect there. Could be a pain to fix (requiring bed removal).

  19. Here are a few of mine -clear tails, especially the ones that use a ton of chrome inside as a styling feature. - overlong headlights that go halfway to the A pillar (or more than halfway) - All the "blingy" chrome in headlight housings - Front fender cutlines on the A pillar - large spoilers - stickers - "eyebrow" turn signals (above the headlights) - "Bangle Butt" on anything - Rear mini-doors on a coupe - the godawful slabs of chrome on the bumper corners of the Silverado HDs - center mount exhaust
  20. Well, at least we won't have to get them shipped from Oz. A trip to the local Pontiac parts counter will solve that problem.
  21. WooHOO! It doesn't have the damn ugly clear tails!!!
  22. *bump* for those who haven't seen this before.
  23. Oh joy another minivan- yipee. As exciting as a loaf of bread.
  24. Here's the video. It's a hands-down win for the F-150 and the Tundra is pathetic. The Silverado is mid-pack in this test.
