2008 Camaro?
I've been reading at CZ28 and I think they took a GTO and put the Camaro body on it. GTO wheelbase: 109.8 in GTO track: 61.8F, 61.9R Camaro Concept wheelbase: 110.5 in Camaro track: 63.8F, 63.3 R So it would seem to me that those would be close enough to build a car for a movie on. I have made a side-by-side below Also, parts that have been identified from the GTO include: Guage cluster Headlight controls (round knob) Seat bottoms (the seat back could be modified) Pedals Other parts that I'm am not sure if they are from the GTO but are very similar if not: Door pulls HVAC controls Seatbelt fastener Lever to make the seatback go forward to allow access to rear passengers Also, notice the concept Camaro has the seatbelt attached to the seat, not the case in the yellow one: Here is the side-by-side. Parts circled in red are ones that I am almost 100% sure are exactly the same. Parts in blue seem very similar but I can't say for sure are the same: And to show the GTO seatbelt:

May 2006 Sales: Ford Motor Company
A much better month for Ford than GM, but it appears the Mustang is already slowing down significantly. My dealer has 28 (!!!) Mustangs for sale, while they have about 10 Fusions usually, not a good balance at all. GM could learn something from Ford about having new CARS on the market right now instead of new trucks. Until the Aura and new Aveo come, GM's "launch" vehicles are going to be hampered by gas prices.

May 2006 Sales: General Motors Corp.
Well if fleets are about 1/3 of sales (I believe they were in the past), and 1/3 of sales were down 28%, that means that the other 2/3 of sales had to be down 10% to get an average of down 16% (10%+10%+28% = 48/3 = 16%). That's a very rough estimate, but I'm guessing that's relatively close (+/- 3%). There was -1 Classics sold Anyways, there were not many bright spots... The CTS needs to get here NOW, the LaCrosse needs a refresh but the Lucerne seems to be doing well, it looks like the DTS was hit hard by the fleet reduction, and the STS needs a refresh too. The Aveo should pick back up when the new one arrives, the Cobalt seemed to do relatively well and the Impala did well. The Malibu appears to be the victim of reduced fleet sales once again. The Z06 is giving Corvette sales a boost it would seem. G6 did well, GP was down due to fleet probably, and the Solstice continues it's torrid pace. The Vibe needs a redesign. Saab continues to suck, and the SKY helped Saturn out quite a bit. Buick really needs the Enclave ASAP, the Escalade is doing well and the SRX was up surprisingly. I'm surprised the Suburban is already at near year-ago levels, but everything besides the HHR and T900s sucked for Chevy trucks. Same thing goes for GMC. The H3 has really taken off for Hummer it would appear, and the Torrent is giving Pontiac some much-needed volume. All in all, a terrible month for GM. Very few bright spots. Until the Aura, new Malibu and CTS, Lambdas, a T900 pickups come I'm not that optimistic that GM will do very well in sales.

2007 SRX Changes
I heard the SRX wasn't getting the 6-speed, but I guess it is. Why would they require you to get NAV if you want the rear entertainment? that's rediculous and will cause more than a few buyers to look elsewhere.

How reliable has your car been?
The GTO needed new spark plugs the day we picked it up (though I'm guessing it had something to do with sitting for so long) and then they said the instrument panel glitched when they were making sure it was running well after the spark plugs were replaced, but I never noticed it. We had it replaced anyways though. Other than that though, it has been flawless. The check engine light comes on every couple weeks, but that's because the computer gets confused by the performance camshaft every so often. It goes away within a day.

Spied: 2008 Chrysler Town & Country [update 11/21]
Well, really 2 years and a couple months :AH-HA_wink:

YOUR CAR ON WIKIPEDIA
I skipped all the old years if you didn't notice. Like a manager told me at the dealership I might work for, if the GTO was called something other than 'GTO' it would have done a lot better.

2008 Camaro?
After looking at the interior more, I can't tell if the gauge cluster is from the GTO, but the round thing left of the steering wheel is from the GTO (controls the lights) and the pedals appear to be as well. It's very hard to tell, but the gearshift indicator looks pretty similar as well.

2008 Camaro?
You just said the orange doesn't connect around or whatever. I'm not sure if it does since it's really dark in that part of the pic, but the whole door panel is different regardless. Yes I'm stoked about this, but I'm even more stoked about the GTO because we knew there was going to be a Camaro.

2008 Camaro?
Also, where's the mention of the GTO?

2008 Camaro?
Is it just me, or do the door panels appear to be different too? The concept curves, the new one is straight-lined, and the new one has a door pull.

GT500:An overpriced pony not living up to the hype
Actually, it should be benchmarked as what NOT to do for the top Camaro

New VE Commodore pics!
The exterior looks really good. The interior is hard to judge, but the E-Brake is weird and it looks like they copied Mercedes. Not bad, but I think the wood messes it up.

2008 Camaro?
Hmm, so the Camaro gets chased by the Police, but the Mustang can't catch the Camaro?

Camaro given the go ahead
I think some of their info is off: Built in AU? - I thought we knew it was going to be in Oshawa. 2010MY? - We just learned that the movie the Camaro is going to be in is well before MY2010.

GM names new GMNA President: Troy Clarke
It says he was the chief negoitator for GM during the last contract talks (which doesn't sound too promising for the upcoming ones, hopefully he gets more done this time). Gary Cowger was the president previously, but he's doing some job globally now that consists of well, making GM more global.

Detailing cars a good job?
Well, I decided I'd go ahead and tell them I'd take the job (if they pick me). We'll see how it goes.

GT500:An overpriced pony not living up to the hype
Well, if this doesn't solidify the fact that the GT500 is a porky, underperforming "performance" car, I don't know what does: http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=83159 4130lbs (and it's not even the convert!), 56/44 weight distribution, 1/4 mile in 13.1 and $47k+ does not seem to appealing to me. A 2006 GTO with a good driver and a couple simple bolt-ons will beat the GT500 for $15k less, and that's before dealer markups. And what's the point of having 500HP if it's made at redline? Unless the fuel cut-off is well above redline, the 500HP is only available for a very short time.

Detailing cars a good job?
Yeah, but I don't know if I want to work the whole summer. I think I would like to have a little more free time and work 4 days a week, but I still haven't decided what to do.

2007 9-3 Interior
The new radio doesn't look terrible, it just looks less-Saab, which is both good and bad I guess. Good because more people might consider it, bad because it might turn off some loyal Saab buyers.

Durango vs. Pathfinder
The Pathfinder is no good A-Pillar back, but the front is OK. The Durango is just no good no matter where it's veiwed from.

Detailing cars a good job?
Well I spoke with the owner today, he used to live on my street and I talk to him from time to time when I see him at the dealership. Anyways he said that it would have to be full time because they never know when they're going to have a good day or a slow day, so they can't really hire just for certain days. I'm still not sure if I want to do it full time, what does everyone think?
