  1. American Customer Satisfaction Index results. Leftlane Article Here
  2. These articles make no mention of the BUE, which has been discussed in several articles and was confirmed to me by a couple Buick sales managers. I think this model will be crucial to Buick. An MPV model like the Business Concept will be a unique offering as well for this target. All of this sounds like an amalgamation of several articles that have been floating around lately, and blatantly steps into speculation at the end. Maybe an attempt to keep the momentum going for the LaX intro, but certainly good news for those of us who appreciate the brand's revival. How many times must the Buick placeholder be hashed. Chevy= Economical, everyone's cars, trucks, SUVs, CUVs Buick/GMC= Luxury cars, trucks, SUVs, CUVs Cadillac= Ultra-Luxury cars, SUVs, CUVs, and I guess still trucks since Hummer is gone. GM has filled that mid spot with four divisions in the past, really five because Saab was never ultra-luxury. Now that they have trimmed to two it would seem that Buick's place in the family would be even clearer. Buick is the founding brand for GM, seems like true GM enthusiasts would get behind it instead of dissect it and badger it when it finally gets its chance to regain the stature it deserves. GM is banking heavily on this historic brand, because it will eventually fill a lot of shoes. The old arguments about Buick don't flush anymore, Buick is putting out cars that are at Cadillac level now. Maybe we should be bitching about how Cadillac is not living up to its expectations.
  3. Looks to be much the same info as the Motor Trend article.
  4. Just checked it, it does, but thanks.
  5. Buick planning model expansion By Drew Johnson General Motors’ Buick brand has been left to wither on the vine for the past few decades, but the Detroit automaker is planning to give the 101 year old marque new life as it consolidates to just four core brands.
  6. Considering that Buick currently only has three models to market, and they are all considered to be their top end, it makes good sense for them to market them as "something for everyone" based on content. I think you will see this change when the Regal and compact entry level models come along.
  7. 1.5 hour round trip to Blowing Rock, NC provided sightings of 12 Enclaves, all with drivers under 50. Somebody's buying them and they don't do blue from the looks of it.
  8. Not at all! I'm all for energizing Buick with youthful appeal. And I love the idea of smaller CUVs, a compact sedan, a really hot compact coupe, even a slick, larger coupe based on the LaCrosse. I'd also love to see a rear-wheel drive larger sedan (Park Avenue). I'm just not certain that this clay represents the vehicle you describe. As I said in another post, I'm excited by Troy Clarke's comment to expect the unexpected from Buick. Seeing Buick go from what was basically a niche brand, back to a core brand with many new models on the way is like Christmas for me. I personally think Buick is going to be the new, hot vehicles on the market. Sales figures and acclaim are proving it, and it is fun watching the posters struggle to blast the same old rhetoric ablout Buick that has stained it for years. Luxury, in a price range that doesn't say "Man, why am I paying this much for this car, when I could have had..." Exciting designs, smooth lines and nice proportions, that are tastefully executed to appeal to a broad range of ages. My family has been a Buick family since 1967. I moved to Hondas when GM quality tanked and man am I regreting that decision after the experiences I have had with that brand over the last several years. My Aunt bought a DTS and then immediately had buyer remoarse and wanted her Park Avenue back. Buick is definitely in our blood, and I am excited that it is coming back to life, and I can't wait until I can own one again. I may be 50, but I sure as Hell don't want to drive an old man's car; these Buicks are not your father's Oldsmobile, far from it! They are youthful, well-executed and priced within my reach. I am salivating for a new LaCrosse, just wanna slip inside one and see how it fits. I wish I could remember the very old post that had a video with Buick concepts in the background. Someone captured stills and I thought they had been posted. I remember there being small coupes and CUVs, probably the first generations of this CUV. The video I have linked is full of Buick concepts. Unfortunately, the video quality is so poor that I can't make out too much in the pause. At about 1:27 in the CBS video, you will see two small models sitting behind the clay pictured. One is a hot coupe, the other is what I think may be the "Buick Agile CUV" you describe. Take the time to check it out and enjoy.
  9. I have provided a link to the Jalopnik site, where the article about the CBS report is streaming. It is well worth a watch, because there are all kinds of Buick concepts visible throughout the segment, as well as a view of the Corvette Concept and CTS Coupe. Look very closely in the background, just before viewing the CUV clay in question, at the CUV in finished small clay. Also note the person sitting behind the full-size model. This is not a small CUV by the scale of him to the clay. The previous photo did not show this person in full, only the crowd behind, making it difficult to determine scale. It is smaller than an Enclave, but is larger than the Gamma Agile. Also, look at it in comparison to the full-size LaCrosse model in the background. Jalopnik states that this is a modified Lambda platform. This platform should be capable of AWD and Hybrid tech and be quite smooth on the street, but again challenges the Delta II statement. 10. No badge engineering here, I see no shared sheet metal. Actually, unless this is a concept that does not accurately reflect a production model, there are no shared elements (i.e. windsheild, height, side windows, pilars, etc.). Looks like Buick is finally getting the attention and respect it deserves.
  11. Saw this combo ad last Monday. There is one that focuses on the Enclave only (saw it on ABC last Monday), and one that is LaX only (not seen it yet), wonder when they will post them on the Buick site?
  12. Even a slice of Business Concept in that overall dash shape and design.
  13. Mmmm, this interior sure says premium Buick compact, down to the ambient lighting. And how interesting that the last image shows a blue glow in those dash gauges instead of the red from the other pics. The dash, waterfall, gauges and steering wheel look amazingly LaCrosse don't they? With a sporty edge. Leftlane images of new Astra interior.
  14. One look at the exterior design of this Buick in comparison with the sheet metal on the Terrain alone makes these vehicles night and day. If the interior is executed to the level we are seeing on new Buicks and shares few visible components with the Terrain, even a traditional power train would not make them too similar. Two totally different markets. It is interesting how this design shares language with the Business Concept. Looks like the child of Lax and Business, with traditional CUV door DNA winning out in the union. The character line going back from the headlight looks both retro and modern, similar to the 1972 Skylark. And hopefully, I see the Buick hip forming on that clay, which is the more current expression of the sweepspear.
  15. Hey, I'm lazy. And I enjoy nothing more than a good laugh at watching people drive in for gas, realize they put the pump on the wrong side and have to reorient the car to pump gas. Guess I have just driven Japanese cars (Hondas) for so long that I could see myself being one of those who pulled in wrong. Do they have right side drive in China, if so, this must have been a cost saver. All the other Buicks my family has had were driver (left) side fillers, or the tag filler, which I must say I liked back in the day as well.
  16. The only thing I don't like about the new LaCrosse is the fact that the fuel door is on the wrong side. Picked up my LaCrosse brochure, which is very classy BTW, and decided to make some comparisons in style and quality. Just took a stroll through the Lincoln site and seriously, Buick is simply blowing the doors off of them now. The LaCrosse is light years ahead of the MKS in styling, inside and out. Want bloated, take a look at the MKT. Sheesh, what were they thinking. It is a disproportionate nightmare of a CUV. The Enclave is without a doubt the better option. And if the 2012 Enclave clay floating around is any indication, it is only going to move further ahead.
  17. I like where it is going, but I agree, it needs the sweepspear or some semblance of it. Zoomed in and looks like they are cutting it as the shot was taken, maybe it just hasn't gotten there yet. Could not find a shot of the Enclave at the same angle, but did an overlay of the one I had that was close. Looks to be proportionately correct for the Enclave model. You can definitely see the beveled LaCrosse hood, guess all the ventiports are moving up? That character line near the rocker is definitely inspired by the LaX.
  18. That must be it. Oh man, please take the time to give it more Enclave DNA and not just throw a waterfall on it. That is what I like about the Infinity FX and EX, they are so similar. And we already know that the Enclave formula works well.
  19. Hmmm, forgot about the Saab variant. You may have something there.
  20. Could be, but there has been no substantiated talk of such a vehicle. Sounds exciting to me, and I am very happy to hear about the Regal. With Buick getting the Regal, it seems that the "Astra" variant coming to the US would bring Buick's line-up to well-rounded, if not... large.
  21. I'm on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC and decided to drop into the local Buick dealership to pick up a LaCrosse brochure (which is very nice BTW) and I started a long conversation with one of the sales managers there. He confirmed to me that Buick is getting three new models over the next two years. The LaCrosse is the first, which will be followed soon by the new Regal and then, and here's where the conflict begins, the last will be a "Baby Enclave." I started talking to him about the Buick "Astra" model that has been photographed testing in China and Germany, and he acted as if he knew nothing about this. The prospect of a Baby Enclave is exciting to me, but the rumors about the "Astra" variant are so strong and he seemed to have his facts in line, that I am surprised he has heard nothing about the compact. He was quite certain about the smaller CUV. Could this mean that Buick will be getting more than three new models in the not so distant future? Or could the new HRV be the "Baby Enclave" he was referencing? Back to the LaCrosse, he said their orders were just processed and they should have the first ones in six weeks.
  22. I don't disagree with you that the Enclave is large for its segment; however, it is officially listed as a mid-size SUV, as are all Lambdas. Do a search on GM.com or Google for mid-size SUVs and it will appear.
