  1. The first gen. differences between the SS and Z/28 was so much more than cubic inch displacement of the engine (and BTW the base SS engine was the 350 cid, 396 cid was optional). The first gen. SS was basically a drag race type of car, high performance engine and set up for pretty much straight line performance. The Z/28 was essentially a road race car (put into production to homologate it for SCCA TransAm Sedan Races), high revving SBC (had to be under the SCCA 305 cid limit), suspension set up for curves, body sat two inches lower than the SS even though the SS had 14" wheels and the Z/28 had 15" wheels. Totally different animals designed with different purposes in mind. I'm also not sure of what the fifth gen. Z/28 would have been, track performer or drag car, I'm feel that Chevy's purposes in this day and age are completely different than they were in '67-"69. Clyde
  2. You've got waaaaaay too much time on your hands! And besides that, who really gives a rat's behind about your photochop of an almost 40 year old car, it was made the way it was and the 2010 Camaro will be made the way it is, you can't change that at this point in time so you might as well get over it. I happen to like the pre-production pics I've seen, yeah a true hardtop would have been nice, but I'm not going to let a little B pillar behind glass keep me from getting a 2010 Camaro. I bought new Camaros in '67 and '69, were there some things different about them I'd like to see in 2010? Sure, my '67 was a RS with hideaway headlights, my '69 Z/28 had chambered exhaust and I loved the sound/feel of that solid lifter engine and that big Holley dual feed, but I'll survive with one of the V8 versions of the 2010. And no, I did not vote in your poll, I felt it was pointless. Clyde
  3. Yep, back in the day there were quite a few Z/28 RS versions running around my town, mine was not but several of my friends had them. What was not available with Z/28 '67-'69 was convertible, auto tranny, and I think AC was not either. Clyde
  4. Ummm, no, the tach is not under the dash, the tach is up top next to the speedometer. And the DIC is in between the tach and speedo. Clyde
  5. Don Yenko was killed in a plane crash several years ago, the only Yenko dealership I could find recently was Yenko Honda and that has been sold/changing names. I think Baldwin is still doing some things, so that could be a possibility. I think we'll also see something from Berger Chev. Clyde
  6. Sorry, I don't want to have anything to do with a Saleen or a Roush Camaro, there are certainly other alternatives out there. Saleen has bad-mouthed the Camaro so much in the last several months and Roush is too well known for Ford projects. Clyde

According to Scott Settlemire on a couple of other forums today, the color chips posted include some colors that will not be on the 2010 Camaro and does not include some colors that will be (though he didn't comment any further on which colors). I certainly would find that more believable than a Sherwin-Williams listing several months prior to actual production. Clyde
  9. What is the total time frame? Wasn't the Concept first shown in Jan. 2006? And production /availability is still targeted to first quarter 2009, so essentially three years from concept to production. I find that a very reasonable time frame for a new car. You do realize that there is quite a bit of difference in a "one off" custom built concept and a true production car that will be mass produced? And then how would you react if it was rushed into production and the marketplace and ended up having some major issues requireing recall, etc.? I think you are being a little unrealistic about the time frame. Clyde
