The 2019 Ford Ranger marked the nameplate's long-awaited return to the North American market after an absence of more than five years, debuting at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Available in XL, XLT, and Lariat trims, the SuperCrew Ranger came powered exclusively by Ford's 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The optional FX4 Off-Road package added an electronic-locking rear differential, off-road-tuned Bilstein shocks, hill descent control, and Terrain Management System for serious capability beyond the pavement. Chevrolet unveiled the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2018, introducing an entirely redesigned T1 platform truck with 8 trim levels spanning from the Work Truck to the premium High Country. The new Silverado offered 6 powertrain choices, including a 2.7L turbocharged four-cylinder, a 5.3L V8 and 6.2L V8 both with Dynamic Fuel Management, and the first-ever 3.0L Duramax inline-six diesel in a Silverado. Acura unveiled the 2019 RDX Prototype at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, previewing a ground-up redesign of its best-selling luxury SUV. The prototype showcased a bold new exterior with a Diamond Pentagon grille, Jewel Eye LED headlights, and a wider, more athletic stance compared to the outgoing model. Inside, Acura introduced an all-new cabin highlighted by a 10.2-inch infotainment display, a new True Touchpad Interface, a digital instrument cluster, and available head-up display — a dramatic step up in technology and materials quality. The production 2019 RDX launched with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and available Super Handling All-Wheel Drive.
