Ahead of tonight's reveal of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, pictures started tumbling out via Autoblog.com. Carscoops.com snagged some screenshots of the video before it was taken down. We don't know much about the technical details yet, but the look is what you would expect from the Cadillac version the the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. We already saw pictures of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade interior last week.
Stay tune to CheersandGears.com for the official pictures and a video live stream of the reveal event at 7:30pm eastern time.
Update: At the moment, there is no video embed link. You can watch the reveal on Youtube. 2015 Cadillac Escalade Live Reveal

What's the CD player situation? I hope Cadillac didn't f@#k up again like on the ATS. Make me pay if you want, but don't shove another single-disc in the far corner of the glovebox so it is unusable from the driver seat...I mean at least make it a 6-disc changer with such an unergonomic setup...
It is the same setup as the ATS.

Lexus IS-C... though I think that is done soon.

Dodge is already claiming 25mpg with the V6 + 8-Speed, so I don't know what Chevy and Ford are bragging about.

The Ram Ecodiesel is only a $2,000 increase over the Hemi and a $4,500 increase over the Pentastar, it's not that much more expensive when you're already dropping $32k on a V8 truck. Rumor has it that the RAM Ecodiesel EPA highway figure will be 27mpg, so for $2k, you'll get Hemi torque (20mpg highway) with better than Pentastar fuel economy (25mpg highway). Keep in mind that diesels almost always beat their EPA figures once out in the real world. If you're someone who puts a lot of miles on a truck and needs to tow, the Ecodiesel sounds like a good option.
What's more, Ram isn't tying the Ecodiesel to other packages and it will be available on all trims except for the R/T. Want a Tradesman with an Ecodiesel? Just pick out what color. I'll have a full write-up on the Ecodiesel sometime soon.
I think GM is sorely underestimating what Ram has going here.

I think he'd love the Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel too, but not to the point of pissing on electric vehicles.

Z-06!Now see, you guys got some good information posted about your little humming "cars" that some ppl might find interesting! See how that whole "pro and con" thing works???
The Leaf "car" can travel, maybe, one second faster to 60 mph than my car with a good driver... but I can stay on the road for 635 miles before stopping to fuel up... and it takes me about ten minutes to fill my diesel tank... how much time is lost driving a Leaf "car" over 635 miles? WAY more than one second, buckaroos.

The Model S can travel way faster, recharges in 30 minutes every 250 miles. If you're home every night, every morning you'll have a 265 mile range when you leave for work, you never have to stop for a fill up during your day to day routine.. that saves you more time in the long run than 600 mile fill ups.

Saw a late model BMW 7-series with (3) Buick VentiPort knock-offs, evenly spaced across the upper third of the front doors. The noobs are going to think it has a 6-cyl in it.

Well, since it's an I6, shouldn't all 6 ports be on the same side?
and I thought the number of ports represented the body series rather than the cylinders.... so, they demoted their car a bit.
-
I was thinking you'd go with something that had a crank start so it wouldn't have a deadly fire battery under the hood.... and because you're a bit of a crank.

Hell, you could just look at the EV1 as a case study in battery advancement improving range over time.
Cars with the lead-acid pack had a range of 80 to 100 miles, while the NiMH cars could travel between 100 and 140 miles between charges
While true, that also doesn't account for the difference in performance. The EV1 was an 8 second 0-60, the LEAF is 7 second 0-60 (1 second faster than the Beetle TDi), the Model S is a CTS-V like 4.2 seconds. Had performance remained the same, I'm betting that range would have been even longer.

So, riding in a Tesla over 1400 miles is exactly like sitting in a warm bubblebath, with no stress whatsoever? Not that I'd want to do it in a CR-V of your vintage either... my Bug is pretty darn comfortable and quiet up to 100 mph (that's as fast as I've had it so far), and I can go 635 miles in my car before I have to stop for fuel.
The Model S is quieter than any ICE powered car on the road, diesel or gas. It has acres of torque, which you and I both love, and it rides like an XTS. As far as stress free driving goes, the Model S will be pretty close to the top of the list.
-
Ah... but those who DO want to drive like my example (or are employed by companies that demand they drive) are SOL with electrics. Their range has not expanded in 100 years. I stop at rest stops to pee. Takes 2 minutes.
Google, nav, same diff!
The range has not expanded? X
False: The Detroit Electric could go 180 miles on a charge but its top speed was 20 miles per hour, not exactly a fair comparison. The Nissan Leaf can do normal highways speeds and has a range of 100 miles. The Model S (in top configuration) can do Cadillac CTS-V like speeds and acceleration, and has a better range than our CR-V. (265 miles for the Tesla, we're sucking fumes at 260 miles on the CR-V). The Chevy Spark EV has 400 ft-lbs of torque... just about the same as a new Silverado 5.3 V8. I think GM made a mistake in configuring that car though, with more battery and less torque it would have been just as driver friendly with more range.
-
THEN DONT BUY A TESLA! But don't piss on those that do! Jeeze! There are people who hate diesels too you know and yet I would agree that their dislike is just as irrational as yours.
I just did a 1400 mile trip in the CR-V and gosh, me, my back, my ears, and my wallet all wish it had been a Model S instead. And there are enough charging stations along the route that I could have done it with no trouble.
Ack! I accidentally deleted a post of yours ocn, not intentional, I'll see if I can get it back.
-
And Chicago and DFW and Houston and Miami and even Pittsburgh and Columbus and Denver and boulder and Portland and Las Vegas and.....
Even Breezewood exit on the PA turnpike is getting a station...it seems to be under construction now. At least two Tpk rest stops have charging stations....
Most people don't use their cars for more than 200 miles without stopping... don't extrapolate your own driving patterns to everyone else.
Not gonna be hungry every 250 miles tho. Need to make good time driving to Florida. Don't have time to google a charging station and take a detour for it. Rather stop at the rest and fuel stations along the way and not be a prisoner to my vehicle. My vehicle is a tool, not a master.
The car had charging station listings built into the NAV. It finds them for you.
-
10k miles?! Time to trade it in?

Nope. Tesla's charging station build out plan is out there for all the world to see. They've already got a good start in the northeast.
-
In fact, I think we're already at the point where there is no place in the U.S. that is "tthousands" of miles from a recharge station.
-
The infrastructure to charge these cars is being extended every day. In a year's time or less, your range and refill arguments will be rendered moot.
-
The old 4.3, while no powerhouse, did just fine on reliability thanks.

Contrary opinions are fine. Don't like Tesla or Fisker all day all night... but don't pretend that a freak accident that causes a car fire is an event unique to Electric vehicles. There have been more CRV fires than there have been fires of all EV models combined.
It was a freak accident, nothing more. That piece of steel could have just as easily punctured a gas tank or CNG tank.

Threads like these remind me why I rarely post here.
Anyhow, my folks have had their Model S for two months and 3,000 miles now, and they're loving every minute of it.
It's the best car I've ever driven, period.
Yes, the IRRATIONAL hatred, fear mongering, and wishing for select Domestic automakers to die just because they are trying something different annoys me too... and I own the place.

Cadenza looks good on paper, but it is not Lacrosse or even upper end Impala level in the real world.
