  1. I don't think retail is up, at least not for June. 24% overall drop is way too big to be due to fleet cuts, especially since some of the heavily fleeted cars like Impala and Grand Prix aren't the ones that are down.
  2. Well, this one's Europe-only. But apparently, there will be a CTS station wagon available in the US as well.
  3. The price of the cars isn't the important thing given GM's financial situation, the profit from the car is. VW is said to lose millions on every Veyron the sell, with a $1.5million price tag! GM can't afford that.I agree with the thinking that the mainstream products need to be the focus at GM for now, including getting a competitive full line of vehicles at Cadillac. New CTS looks good. Escalade is fine. STS is a lame duck, DTS is way overdue for a replacement, SRX isn't selling well enough, XLR, while nice, is getting close to needing a redesign and sales are very low. That's a lot of things to be fixed (I know some fixes are already in the pipe, but not all) before Cadillac spends resources on an over-the-top $200k+ halo car like the Sixteen. A $90k-$100k car competitive with the S-class, 7-series etc. should also come first.
  4. I've never been much of fan of production Porsches (Carrera GT excluded), but I would think they'd rather have a diluted image than take the "we don't make boxes" high road and end up with an uncertain future like Jaguar.
  5. This is pretty sad and drastic . Hope this doesn't pressure Ford and GM to have to do similar things...

    night vison

BMW has a NightVision option on 5-series and up. Not sure how much it costs.
  7. Maybe for the buyers, but I'm sure BMW will make plenty of money on this!
  8. LMAO :rotflmao: I actually don't dislike the STS interior myself, but IMO it isn't up to the level of a 5. I did like the E interior when it first came out, but it's starting to look dated (well, I guess it IS dated).
  9. Methinks this is WELL below the threshold of justifying a thread complaining about it. But since you did bring it up (and the picture is of a Cadillac engine), my Caddy's owner's manual did come in a nice leather cover.
  10. Looks like GM even has better photographers in China
  11. That's just classic!! Unfortunately for us Cadillac fans, the Marmalade description is probably not that far off from the BRX we'll get in place of the SRX in a couple of years.
  12. I agree... with an exterioir redesign, the SRX could be a VERY competitive product. The current design looks odd from some angles, especially in light colors (and this is from someone who liked it enough to buy one). One thing I don't get is GM's inability and/or unwillingness to learn from mistakes and try again. Why give up on a segment (the BRX may address this, although my understanding was that it was intended to slot below the SRX againt the likes of X3 and RDX -- a much smaller market) and a name that has several years of marketing invested in it (I don't think there's any negative perception associated with the SRX name -- just an exterior design that's not widely loved). If the sales numbers of Honda's first generation Odyssey (which was also a different-than-the-rest design) was compared to it's then current competition, I'm sure it looked far worse than the competitive landscape for SRX that turbo200 posted. But the obvious answer was not to give up on the segment, but to go back and design a competitive product with more main-stream appeal. Same with full-size trucks from Toyota. I have no doubt that Honda will improve the Ridgeline next time around instead of giving up on it. IMO, GM's stable of recent good ideas killed after a bad first-round exterior design include the Aztek and the XUV as well.
  13. The M-class's CD changer goes in the glove box (all 3 of these SUVs have ridiculously small glove boxes to start with!). The X5's goes in the cargo area. All 3 also have single-disc CD/DVD players behind the navigation screen, but that's pretty much useless for playing CDs if you use the navigation system.
  14. Been lurking here a long time, but first post... Anyways, the SRX center stack may not be the cutest, but it's functional. We recently trestdrove an SRX, X5 and ML (the new 06 one). Guess which ONE of those manages to fit a CD changer in the center stack (where it belongs).
