  1. There are alot of Torrents here now and it is a very nice SUV....it has a much better look than the Equinox. I guess that's the beauty of rebadging and slight design changes, you don't like one....you have something else to consider.
  2. I thought the same, it looks like the last generation Jetta with a taller greenhouse..
  3. I just noticed the Saturn Sky in the background...it holds up well beside this beauty.
  4. This car is beyond sex...it's, I can't breathe...help me.....
  5. GM Holden Launches Dual-fuel Commodore Text courtesy of General Motors Corporation 09-12-2005 GM Holden’s 3.6 litre Alloytec V6 to run on petrol and LPG The success of Australia ’s most popular car range will be enhanced with the launch of a dual-fuel Commodore, featuring a newly-developed version of GM Holden’s 3.6 litre Alloytec V6. The engine is modified to run on petrol and LPG, using new valves and hardened valve seats designed for harsher LPG operating conditions. Based on the Executive variant, the LPG-powered Commodore uses a high-tech system called Sequential Vapour Gas Injection (SVGI), which injects gas directly into the air intake runner, eliminating excess gas circulating through the air intake system. The system gains further efficiencies by mimicking the petrol injection sequence, which allowed engineers to achieve power and torque figures close to theoretical LPG maximum efficiencies. Like the petrol-only Executive, power is 175kW @ 6000 rpm with 320 Nm of torque @ 2800 rpm. Consistent with GM Holden’s efficient Alloytec engines, the dual-fuel Executive meets Euro 2 emission standards. LPG fuel economy is 14.4 litres/100km (sedan) and 14.8 litres/100km (wagon). Petrol fuel economy figures remain unchanged at 11.1 litres/100km (sedan) and 11.3 litres/100km (wagon). Significant development work was undertaken to ensure a seamless transition from petrol to LPG while driving, with no discernable power difference. The LPG system uses petrol on start up, then automatically transfers to LPG, if selected, once the engine has warmed up. Another advantage of the gas-powered Commodore is one fuel filling point – the gas outlet is located above the petrol cap behind the fuel filler door. The system is also easy to service and maintain. In addition to GM Holden’s standard maintenance schedule, the dual-fuel system requires an LPG-system service only every 15,000kms, which involves changing two filters and a leak check. GM Holden National Fleet Manager Simon Carr said the appeal of LPG-powered vehicles is increasing due to LPG’s compliance with all current and future emissions regulations, and the comparatively low cost of LPG. “There’s more and more interest in LPG vehicles due to the increased cost of petrol.” he said. “GM Holden’s sophisticated SVGI system produces the same driving characteristics as the petrol-only Commodore and it also has the cost advantage of the cheaper fuel source.” The dual-fuel VZ Commodore Executive is priced at $37,550 for the sedan and $40,660 for the wagon. Production of the LPG-powered Commodore begins in October, with GM Holden dealers taking orders from today.
  6. This vehicle has such a tightness to the design, it reeks of expensive, a faceted effect. This is just the sort of thing GM needs to be doing.
  7. I'm with you on the previous M coupe. It was very muscular looking like it was pouncing...loved it.
  8. This is a concept, I suspect they will squeeze out a few more inches in the interior on the production model.
  9. Too funny. I think he meant 'breeding'...didn't he?..well maybe he did mean 'breading'.
  10. This is the best news in awhile...I love this suv!!!
  11. The current RAV4 has a bit of character....this new one is adhering to the Toyota bland agenda. I thought I read that they were sensitive to the bland label and were going to change that?. This vehicle defines blah. I hope Toyota keeps going in this stylistic direction...people will eventually nod off.
  12. I really like this little suv....good style to it...much better than what came before.
  13. The Patriot has a baby Jeep Commander look to it.

  16. Alfa Romeo stings Porsche with 8C Spider CarPoint - September 2005 Alfa Romeo aims to forge upmarket and beat Porsche at its own game ... and this sublimely proportioned roadster will play the role of the figurative hit man. Unveiled at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in Monterrey, California, the 8c Spider is derived from the 8c Competizione coupe that starred at the 2003 Frankfurt motor show. The Italian marque is boldly touting the 8c as a legitimate rival for the 911 Carrera -- and this may seem an absurd notion until you take into account the car's innards. The curvaceous two-door is built on the Maserati Coupe's rear-drive platform, and uses a supercharged version of the donor car's 4.2-litre V8 -- reportedly belting out 330kW -- mated to a six-speed gearbox. It was penned in-house by Alfa Romeo Centro Stile, and uses a high-tech aluminium and carbonfibre construction to optimise weight and rigidity. The Spider is tipped to weigh around 1600kg, so its power-to-to-weight ratio should eclipse those of the 911 Carrera S and Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Alfa claims it can bolt to 100km/h in under five seconds, but equal emphasis has reportedly been placed on tractability and low- and mid-range response to bolster its credentials as an 'everyday' supercar. There's double-wishbone suspension all-around and the concept car rides on stunning 20-inch 'clover-leaf' alloys, which may or may not be retained for the production version. Alfa Romeo says it will build 1000 examples of the 8c (split between coupe and Spider variants), but the bad news is that they will all be left hookers. Be that as it may, an insider says half a dozen Aussies have expressed interest in acquiring one -- at an estimated cost of $200K
  17. I got so excited, didn't read it thoroughly....IS SATURN GOING TO DO A 2-DOOR SPORT UTE?....am I reading this right?!
  18. I thought of the Cobra too. Soltice/Sky could become that sort of car. I hope it does.
  19. sciguy, very vivid mental images lol.....and I think accurate where Civic is concerned. Especially the sedan.
  20. The Germans sure like their chunky sport utes. I like this and especially that it is two door. I could see this in a drop top as well.
  21. ..yes, you are definitely right. They all try to blur the line between 2 and 4-doors, but at the end of the day, people really like 2-doors. They always look better and always have a sportier image. I can't wait for a 2-door suv again...always liked them. And I don't care that they are inconvenient...I am willing to accept that...I'm not a taxi anyhow.
  22. My sighting wasn't too exciting, but saw an H3 up close parked on the street. I love this SUV...looks so much better in person. Finally greenhouses are getting smaller....looks so good that way.
