E-85 Gas and 3.5 litre V-6

Featured Replies

Someone help me out on this one. The 2006 Impala's 3.5 V-6 (210 hp) can take E-85 gas, but not the 3.5 in the Malibu, G6. For that matter, why don't all of GM's passenger V-6 and V-8 engines at least have the option of E-85 gas? The station down the street from my office is selling 101 octane E-85 at $1.98 per gallon, as opposed to the $2.79 for low octane unleaded at the same station. GM needs to get out in front of this issue. E-85 gas helps reduce our foreign oil dependency (which multiplies American power in the world), is good for the environment and helps the American farmer. Why doesn't GM at least offer E-85 compatability as an option?
The 5.3L in the full-sizers takes E-85.
