86 caprice brakes onto 88 caprice classic

Featured Replies

Hi CHEVY people,

I am tryin to change brakes , rotors and pads from 1986 caprice ( wagon )

onto 1988 caprice classic ( 4 door)

my dilema is ... both cars are 15 in. but not to long ago I tried to take the rims off the 86 to put on the 88 , tire wouldn't fit ( not far off , but enuff ) I measured the rotor so I'm wondering will this work cause the lady has no funds ,

wagon is being used for PARTS

PLEASE HELP

The reason they won't fit is because the rotor on the Caprice wagon is larger (heavy duty brake system) as compared to the Caprice sedan. The pads are probably the same, but the rotors won't be. You're going to have to spend some money on this one and buy a set of rotors.
