power steering pumps

Featured Replies

my power steering pump is making noises and im pretty sure its goin out and i dont know what ratio it is but if i have a free pump from anouther motor and the ratio is 12 to 1 will it still work? does anyone know how to find out my ratio

Actually the ratio deals more with the steering gear box moreso than the pump. Typically a GM pick-up pump will fit another without much trouble. The difference comes from whether or not the vehicle you're stealing the pump from has Hydro-Boost (pump will have two return lines), or not. If yours doesn't, and the useable pump doesn't, you're in business.
