Always been a fan of 3rd gen. F-bodies, especially Trans Ams. Great cars. Like the Fiero, I look forward to having one in my driveway some day.

I can't say much about hood-deck proportion, as fastbacks are my favorite body style. And I'm perfectly okay with any front overhang shorter than 3 feet. I find cars with low, drooped and pointed front ends, like the 3rd & 4th generation Firebirds, far, far more attractive and sporty-looking than cars with tall, blunt front ends like the G8 or new Camaro. With a short front overhang the nose has to be either very tall or very steeply sloped.

What I want to know is how much he paid in taxes for that engine...

(There's an import tax on new cars, and this is calculated based on weight, pollution statistics, and power output, among other things. And guess what, if you take a car that's already in the country and tune the engine, you have to pay the calculated difference in taxes or it won't be approved...)

And the paperwork to get all the rebuilding approved just boggles the mind.

He's had to rebuild the suspension and brakes, at the very least, and to do THAT legally, he would need a paper from the manufacturer(or the official importer, who gets their papers from the manufactuer) of the car, saying that the planned changes is OK with them and will not detract from the car's handling or roadworthiness.

Of course, most of the guys doing car inspections at The Public Roads Administration, Traffic division(the branch that most resembles the Amerian DMV) are all 'into' cars... (They're certainly not in it for the pay. ) so I can't imagine that they slowed down the paperwork. (Well, maybe a little, so that they could ogle the pictures... )

They are firm believers of 'easier to get approval than forgiveness' though.
