1.4L Still on Track for Volt and Cruze

Yesterday it was reported that construction of GM's new Flint engine plant had been canceled, and with it the prospects of US built 1.4L engines for the Volt and Cruze. GM has since stated that while the construction contracts have been canceled, the engines are still on track to be built here. However, they are looking at various options, such as building the new engines in an existing plant. Since they have the extra capacity, the engines will be built in Europe until US production is ready.
