Here's an overheard conversation between a Chevrolet engineer and a GM marketing weenie:

MARKETING: How's the new Camaro coming along?

ENGINEERING: Good. Quick little car. Features LS7 V8-

MARKETING: V8? You know what those things cost?

ENGINEERING: Yeah, but they improve performance.

MARKETING: Hm. (takes pinch of cocaine from his snuff box) Tell you what: we'll have three models and only put this V8 one on the high-end SS (snorts). The base one will come with an Ecotec.

ENGINEERING: But that'll degrade the performance badly.

MARKETING: So what? If these people want performance, they can do what I did: get their parents to pay for it. They can buy a Cadillac. What do we care?

ENGINEERING: But -

MARKETING: Look, this comes direct from the bean counters upstairs. And they're certified marketing geniuses.

ENGINEERING: (mumbles) A certified something.

MARKETING: Now. How about the platform.

ENGINEERING: (hopefully) RWD with 6-speed?

MARKETING: No, we have this FWD thing now. Much cheaper - er - better.

ENGINEERING: What about the torque steer that it brings?

MARKETING: Get rid of RWD. We don't need RWD anymore.

ENGINEERING: (incredulous) Get rid of it? Every Camaro we shipped was RWD.

MARKETING: (reaching for pain killers) Not anymore. Oh yeah, while you're at it, clear up the stock of 4T40 Hydramatics we have left over from discontinuing the Cavalier.

[Exit ENGINEER. Goes to computer, opens up web browser and logs onto C&G, where people understands, and responds sympathetically].

Adapted from Insanely Great Macs and modified by me :P

(An attempt of a tasteless joke of what we don't want to see of the Camaro.)
