7 Decades Later Land Rover Defender Dies!

CNN Style is reporting that the production of the Iconic Defender has come to an end. Based on and a compliment to the Jeep Willey, the Land Rover Defender was a box use by the UK Military, Ambulance services, Police and Explorers the world over and Land Rover says that two thirds of the two million plus Defenders manufactured since 1948 are still on the road or off running strong today.

 

History tid bit is that the box design that never got curvy was due to the lack of stamping machinery after the war, steel was not readily available but aluminum was leading to the long life that the Defenders have.
