Electric Vehicle Awareness campaign

As posted above for your reading pleasure Electrify America is running behind schedule, yet they have signed leases on 71 of the 162 highway / community DC charging station locations that will open in 2019 around California. This is mostly due to confusion among permit granting officials regarding the requirements for installation. Electrify America is working with the state and has brought in partners to work in parallel to get the program back on track by the end of the year.

Electrify America owned by VW will operate all DC station locations but has signed agreements with a variety of other vendors for the 1,500 240V AC charging spots that will be installed in the 6 major metro locations. Here is where EA has become smart in dropping the large 110V AC installations and will for all workplace and multi-unit residencies install only 240V AC chargers which should help with the wider adoption of EVs. All DC chargers will handle 50 kW to 350 kW charging speeds and their cables will be cooled cables to improve charging and long life.

All of california is under development, but if your interested in knowing what is currently open and what will open this year by the end of the year, check out the location list here: Electrify America

They have also kicked off the Electric Vehicle Awareness campaign. A series of TV, Radio and websites. TV and Radio will feature the JetStones aimed to broaden consumer awareness. Website that one can visit is "Plug into the Present" which has a great coverage of all about EVs, cost, vehicle range, time of charge, performance, locate a charger, EV models, Hydrogen Models and TV Spot.

The Awareness campaign for stage 1 runs from now to June 19th 2019 at which time it will then be replaced by a new awareness campaign.
