On Route of Chevrolet Impala

Yes agreed - It mirrors my sentiments in the GM May sales thread.

The article's a perfect summation of why GM is struggling so much.

wow.  what sort of kool aid have you been drinking?  you make the new Camlee sound like an A4 in terms of design.  when i sat in the 07 Camlee at the autoshow, i was noticing just how many areas Toyotas decided to cut costs and skimp with cheap plastic inside and how derivitive and fat and chunky and dull the exterior was.  And the only way to get the chassis rigid enough for them in the SE model is to get rid of the folding seat.  LOL.

The new camlee is ok, but by NO MEANS call it out as any sort of achievement in design or style.  It's not.

I agree with Turbo......the new Camry interior is head-and-shoulders a far-superior effort than the Impala.....

Who's drinking kool-aid....? Sorry....it ain't Turbo200.....

Ok, the Impala is not targeting the Camcord. That's the Malibu's job. The Impala is the best selling full-size sedan. It sells triple the number that the Lucerne does. If you figure that a well-designed & executed Epsilon LaCrosse could sell over 300k/yr. The Malibu could approach 1 million/year or double the Camry's figure.

The Impala is very successful today. It would sell even better if it were updated dramatically from middle of the pack to leader of the pack. The Impala takes on the Ford 500, Dodge Charger, and Kia Amanti. The Impala sells more than the "cooler" RWD Charger. Hmm, I guess FWD still matters. Do not expect GM to gamble the success of the FWD Impala on a switch to RWD. I'd expect Chevy to build a Zeta with the Caprice or Bel Air names. The Chi Impala will arrive in fall 2008.

<slurp> ahhhhhhh.......

:P

How's that kool-aid taste, Carman21?
