The 2013 Ford Mustang brought a significant S197 facelift with a revised front fascia, new HID projector headlights, and redesigned sequential LED taillights. The lineup covered a wide range of performance tastes, from the base V6 coupe and convertible through the 5.0-liter V8 GT, the track-focused BOSS 302, and the supercharged GT500 Shelby at the top. Ford also added Track Apps performance timing functions to the instrument cluster across the range.

Happy Fourth of July, friends! I'm back in the U.S. for a while. Greetings from New England, where I'm visiting a friend. Still some unanswered questions regarding geography, but, with each vehicle that I was considering ceasing production one by one, this looks like the most likely contender if I were to remain stateside. It's what I currently have keys to and checks most of my boxes.

Agree, I have very mixed feeling about the Xs for daytime running lights as it implies to me it is dead. I am very happy with the small kidney's that are back compared to the huge nostril kidney's they had which was just as cartoonish IMHO. Size wise, I am surprised it is only a 5 passenger, but they could have surprises since it still has more details to be released.

That brings up another good point. This may seem obvious, but the calculus for an EV works better the worse the mileage of the equivalent gas vehicle is. I remember a while ago people trying to compare the Hummer EVs to a Corolla and saying it didn't make financial sense for the Hummer. But the real comparison is probably something more like an Escalade. A Hummer EV may not be a great savings compared to a Corolla, but it blows away an Escalade.

For me in comparison to the SS I replaced with the EV9. Insurance was a wash on my policy, no real difference. The difference was clearly in Home Charging versus the Premium fuel and low MPG that the SS got. The monthly fuel cost for the SS covers the EV9 payment and charging and I still have no maintenance in comparison to the SS. Big win for me in a state that has some of the cheapest electrical rates and highest gas prices. Washington state does have a flat $250 fee added to your yearly license to make up for the lost gas tax which here is 56.5 cents per gallon plus the federal gas tax so a total of 74.9 cents per gallon tax. Filled up the Escalade today, $146 for the fill-up.
