22-year old is a "young motorist"? Australia has some, uh, very restrictive licensing rules?
  2. The filter is pretty lame. Honestly, having the symbols makes it look like no one has the balls to actually say something. Television Without Pity (TWoP) actually has as one of its rules that if you are going to swear, do it proudly or you might get banned because the symbols are annoying. Seriously, this is a message board, and no one under the age of 13 is legally allowed to post here. The language isn't new for anyone, and no matter how well-written, message board posts aren't of a "journalistic" quality that blogs and other formats are. Hell, if we were trying to be "professional" we wouldn't have usernames, but use our real names. I think this site is becoming confused.

I want Kate Gosselin to lose her kids. She doesn't give a $h! about them. I haven't decided on Jon yet; I wonder how much of a douche he will be once he is completely extricated from Kate.
  4. No, you misread me. We cannot do anything about certain natural disasters because we cannot control any part of them. We most certainly can control air quality. Global warming is the non-issue. The real issue is environmental stewardship. Don't pollute, because pollution causes cancer and asthma. That's what it boils down to. Of course, pollution also damages ecosystems, and ecosystems play a large roll in climate. Whether or not we agree on the degree of human causation vs. natural systems, it's irrelevant; we should be working toward minimizing our impact BECAUSE IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

Falcon puked twice on tv this morning. He clearly wasn't feeling well, and yet his parents insisted he go on tv, where he vomited into a tupperware container on live TV. Klassy. These parents are unfit and must be stopped. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/16/f...o_n_323428.html
  6. What happened to the balloon boy thread? I was going to post an update in it, about how his parents dragged him onto news shows today while he was sick, and he vomited on camera twice. But I can't find the thread, and search didn't turn up anything.
  7. Why should we worry about something we cannot predict? Do midwesterners clutch their pearls at night because there might be a tornado ripping through their neighborhood? Tornados are the most destructive, life-threatening of all the natural disasters in the US. Shouldn't they be worried since they have so much potential catastrophe? Of course not. If you ever come out to California, you will hear "no worries" constantly. We live it. We don't really stress about small stuff. And regarding why CA is so aggressive about climate change: we have a lot of challenging topography. This topography means that not only is the smog produced by us largely kept in the valleys to accumulate, but any coming over from SE Asia settles here as well. We do not get much rain, and the air quality can be abysmal. That said, the state has been so aggressive about this since the 1970s that our air quality has improved to the point that red flag days are fairly rare, especially compared to how frequent they were in the 1970s. We have to be aggressive about it because of our situation. States' rights. Sucks for you if YOUR politicians try to emulate it, but even the very basic high school government class teaches enough that you should know California cannot really influence any state outside of itself, just like Texas can't really effect Hawaii or Maine.

Yup, my parents layover in Denver was extended an hour or so because of it. Not only were these "parents" incredibly negligent if they left that young of a child unsupervised, but to compound it by having such a danger in their backyard NOT properly secured? The child could have died. And furthermore, they didn't LOOK for him for a while? They need to be charged. Absolute wastes of space. Not only did they waste a lot of government resources, but they inconvenienced THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD and HALTED THE ECONOMY because they are too wrapped-up in their personal bull$h! to realize the responsibility they have to themselves, their children, and OTHER PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD. Did anyone see that "rap" video they made of their kids? Those kids are growing up to be as obnoxious and entitled as their parents are. And WHY did my news station even have that video to show? Hmmm...shameless attention whores, much? If the Wife Swap appearances didn't already indicate that... STUPID PIECES OF $h!!!
  9. You're studying ALL weekend long? Lame.
  10. I might go this weekend, but only if I can get a group. I may also just wait for LA.
  11. http://www.motortrendautoshows.com/Orange_...ttractions.html Fbodfather and Converj? Cool.
  12. Price?
  13. I'm not really friends with indecisive people, so I wouldn't know.
  14. Huh? No, Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles. A-Mazing waffles!!
  15. My new favorite frozen waffle. Roscoe's is still the best for fresh, though...
  16. Ha! This guy is so backwards. WHY would decontenting/price lowering make it more desirable? It wouldn't. If anything, the Corvette's lack of interior refinement is its biggest turn-off.

    Some Kids' Jokes

That sounds like Crossroads high school--no grades, just lots of journaling about emotions One of my friends went there...he's mostly well-adjusted.
  18. Or better yet, waffles!
  19. Hm. Wonder what the syrup now is, since real sugar is crystalline. It surely isn't Golden Syrup, so next time I'm at a generic grocery I'll have to look it up.
  20. I just KNEW I'd forget an obvious option...

    Cooking with Croc

How can you not like dill weed? That's my favorite spice for chicken and fish!!
  22. I forgot to add above: Grade B is the cheapest of the maple syrup grades (well, excluding Grade C, which is only for commercial uses), and IMO tastes the closest to the artificial stuff. The lighter grades just don't have enough "maple" flavor to them for me.
  23. I prefer Grade B Maple Syrup. I find Grade A to be too sweet, and I like the "Maple-y" flavor of the artificial junk like Log Cabin breakfast syrup, but I cannot bring myself to knowingly consume High Fructose Corn Syrup for health reasons, so I acted upon a recommendation I found on the interwebs that Grade B was most excellent with regards to tasting like Maple. And so it is. My current jug is a nice large container from Whole Foods' 365 private label.
  24. Alright, it's self-explanatory. Share your preferences.
