  1. Why should we worry about something we cannot predict? Do midwesterners clutch their pearls at night because there might be a tornado ripping through their neighborhood? Tornados are the most destructive, life-threatening of all the natural disasters in the US. Shouldn't they be worried since they have so much potential catastrophe? Of course not. If you ever come out to California, you will hear "no worries" constantly. We live it. We don't really stress about small stuff. And regarding why CA is so aggressive about climate change: we have a lot of challenging topography. This topography means that not only is the smog produced by us largely kept in the valleys to accumulate, but any coming over from SE Asia settles here as well. We do not get much rain, and the air quality can be abysmal. That said, the state has been so aggressive about this since the 1970s that our air quality has improved to the point that red flag days are fairly rare, especially compared to how frequent they were in the 1970s. We have to be aggressive about it because of our situation. States' rights. Sucks for you if YOUR politicians try to emulate it, but even the very basic high school government class teaches enough that you should know California cannot really influence any state outside of itself, just like Texas can't really effect Hawaii or Maine.
  2. You're studying ALL weekend long? Lame.
  3. I might go this weekend, but only if I can get a group. I may also just wait for LA.
  4. http://www.motortrendautoshows.com/Orange_...ttractions.html Fbodfather and Converj? Cool.
  5. Price?
  6. I'm not really friends with indecisive people, so I wouldn't know.
  7. Huh? No, Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles. A-Mazing waffles!!
  8. My new favorite frozen waffle. Roscoe's is still the best for fresh, though...
  9. Ha! This guy is so backwards. WHY would decontenting/price lowering make it more desirable? It wouldn't. If anything, the Corvette's lack of interior refinement is its biggest turn-off.

    Some Kids' Jokes

That sounds like Crossroads high school--no grades, just lots of journaling about emotions One of my friends went there...he's mostly well-adjusted.
  11. Or better yet, waffles!
  12. Hm. Wonder what the syrup now is, since real sugar is crystalline. It surely isn't Golden Syrup, so next time I'm at a generic grocery I'll have to look it up.
  13. I just KNEW I'd forget an obvious option...

How can you not like dill weed? That's my favorite spice for chicken and fish!!
  15. I forgot to add above: Grade B is the cheapest of the maple syrup grades (well, excluding Grade C, which is only for commercial uses), and IMO tastes the closest to the artificial stuff. The lighter grades just don't have enough "maple" flavor to them for me.
  16. I prefer Grade B Maple Syrup. I find Grade A to be too sweet, and I like the "Maple-y" flavor of the artificial junk like Log Cabin breakfast syrup, but I cannot bring myself to knowingly consume High Fructose Corn Syrup for health reasons, so I acted upon a recommendation I found on the interwebs that Grade B was most excellent with regards to tasting like Maple. And so it is. My current jug is a nice large container from Whole Foods' 365 private label.
  17. Alright, it's self-explanatory. Share your preferences.

  19. I'm jealous. That area is, hands-down, the most beautiful place in the LA region by far. Yeah, the new condo is in Cote d'Azur Villas, just off RAT Beach. Literally the last lot on the Redondo side of the PVE border. I just walk into Riviera Village whenever I'm there. Really nice Trader Joe's, and both Starbucks and Coffee Bean are within a block of each other. Only downside to the area is it's so damn far from any freeways, but PVN doesn't move too terribly most of the time. -------------------------- Oh, AT&T is building a new tower on USC's campus. Public Meeting posters are all over the border fence. Really, regardless of what our experiences are Reg, you need to know what towers you're closest too, and what works best in your neighborhood. My freshman year (and into sophomore) at USC, Verizon sucked. No service anywhere. Verizon sponsored the Coliseum, and when one of their guys couldn't make a call during a game, he vowed to build a tower nearby. Suddenly Verizon was on par with Cingular in the area. Now AT&T is a little slower because of the data-hogging iPhone and its popularity, and another tower is being built, this time by AT&T. I will say this: regardless of what service you decide on, you will not have any problems with a Blackberry. Excellently made phones.
  20. How often are you in Rolling Hills? I thought you were up near the foothills most of the time? Some family just bought a bluff-top condo on the peninsula, near the PVE/Redondo Beach border. One thing I've found that helps is to turn off the broadcasting, then turn it back on. The phone tends to pick up on the strongest signal better, instead of trying to hold onto the one it last had longer.

    Sushi Trouble

I only eat "fast food" occasionally. Most of it just isn't that good, to be honest. Wendy's makes some great chicken sandwiches, and their nuggets are good too. I will only eat McDonald's or BK in an airport setting with no other options available. I never eat Arby's. White Castle is only occasionally, and only when I can get it in the midwest fresh. Steak N Shake is another rarity. I do like In-N-Out, though, and will have it once every few months. I just don't like how heavy fast food is. Subway I'll eat, and I wish Jimmy John's were in LA. Really, if I'm going to try killing myself, I'm going to do it with some really tasty fatty food, like Roscoe's or Tommy Burger or CPK.
  22. This is very true. I know that my friends with the iPhone have far more issues than I do on my Bold. I think the iPhone is overall a more data-heavy phone, and that may be why.
  23. I always have service with AT&T. I may not have the fastest data network, but I always have service. The only spotty are in canyons. One of my friends lves in Hacienda Heights, in a canyon between two tall hills. Obviously service there is going to be limited. I also know service is spotty along certain stretches of beach below the sea bluffs. Palos Verdes Dr. S, W, and N have some limited service areas, but again it is a function of topography. Verizon has a faster network, but AT&T does have the most overall global coverage. Have fun in the middle of the desert along an empty highway with Verizon. But in most urban areas, they are fine. Sometimes their signal sucks in penetrating the walls of older homes, though. ETA: "global"
  24. Really? I don't know anyone who likes the Storm. Plus there are so many newer Verizon Blackberries offered now.
