  1. Never had this problem either. I wear contact lenses, so I'm even somewhat sensitive to light at night.
  2. So, if you have a personal problem/condition that makes you extra-sensitive to light, then it is "distracting," but not blinding like HIDs can be. OK, glad we're on the same page that it really isn't a problem. Did you try using sunglasses at night? Or just polarized lenses?
  3. Blinding? Confused with brake lights? Melodramatic much? So many cars have "fog lights" on the road these days, and your descriptors aren't accurate. I really don't see how a RED, low-mounted rear light could be "blinding" in the least, especially in comparison to opposing traffic with HIDs.
  4. Paulie, I haven't seen it in person and neither have you. Maybe the design blows the TSX's out of the water, but I wouldn't make such a proclamation until seeing/feeling the materials in person. The TSX has GREAT material quality.
  5. As they say in real estate, the only 4-letter word you should be screaming is "NEXT!" Go on to the next opportunity with a more stable company and you should be fine. Lucky for you, this time of year many retailers are hiring, which gives you something until you can find something more in line with what you really want.
  6. The oil pan for the 2nd gen Aurora. The oil drains to the FRONT of the vehicle, so the vehicle has to either be perfectly level, or sloping downward to do an oil change. Really?

Cue the inferiority complex. Seriously, there was nothing remotely "classist" about my question; the guy's clearly unhappy where he's living.

Oregon? Hmm? What part, Portland area? That's the most expensive place to live in the nation, but it offers so much in terms of livability. So no ideas on what you want to narrow your prospective fields down to? I mean honestly...can you rule anything out? Astronaut? Firefighter? Elephant trainer? Can you think of some kind of basic curriculum that works for you? Sciences, History, Language, Literature, Math, Arts, Music, etc? What were your best classes in HS? Are you creative or analytical or a bit of both? Organized or messy? Night owl or early bird? SOMETHING so we can help.

Perhaps the better question is "What do you want to do with your life?" Weighty, for sure, but knowing what you want to get out of college/life--at least on some level--is important. Personally, going somewhere else for college is the best trial balloon you can launch.

Of course, neither is southern Ohio. Have you ever thought about going to another region of the country? Yeah, Indiana isn't too different in that regards. I have around 5 non-family contacts in the Indy area I truly give a $h! about, and maybe another 5 that entertain me occasionally. OK forgive me for prying, but what's the situation here? High school diploma? GED? What happened? I'm asking because of the Spring admit you're talking about. Also, there are plenty of scholarships/financial aid opportunities out there. Look for them, apply for them. If you want to take this to PM go for it.

whiteknight, you seem to have a solid head on your shoulders. Are you frustrated with the people around you/their mentality? Ever thought about leaving Appalachia for a more cosmopolitan area? You in college/looking at colleges?

Good to see you are pursuing this within the legal realm. Do so swiftly, and make sure your case is as bullet-proof as possible before you start.

No, definitely the right answer. Things then come to a head when GW's secretary begins dancing on the table singing "Genie In A Bottle" and Laura walks out, opens her coat, and screams "Take me George!" in front of a room full of Very Important People. "One day, Laura...I'm gonna PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE!" Alright, for the love of America, please, does anybody know what I'm talking about?

    Yes.
  19. Palos Verdes (PV) peninsula, hands down. Not a town, per se, but Rancho Palos Verdes (RPV), Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, and Palos Verdes Estates (PVE) comprise the peninsula's municipalities. Redondo Beach is the beach city at the base of the peninsula/hill, and that's a great small city. Closest to PV is Riviera Village, part of Redondo and a little bit of Torrance, and this area is called the Hollywood Riviera. It has a real resort-town vibe to it, but is really laid-back as well. This whole area is hands-down the most beautiful place I have ever seen, and I can't believe it took me 5 years in SoCal to discover it. Bob, I think Pasadena is gorgeous. With the rolling hills, the New Deal-era bridges, and the new vibrant downtown centered on Colorado (Old Route 66), Pasadena is a great place for history buffs and scenic tourists alike. While Orange County has some beautiful coastline, I don't think any of it is better than the south bay/PV peninsula, and the people who live there are so damn plastic and superficial that while aesthically beautiful, my judgment of the area is so negatively affected by it that I don't like being there. If you like new money assholes and the golddiggers that married them, then you won't have a problem with OC, but I can't deal with that. Laguna Beach and Newport Beach are incredible to look at, but the people...argh! Up in the Santa Monicas, Woodland Hills and Calabasas are both beautiful, but they're a trek. I just love PV because it isn't too far removed from anything, yet it's great relaxation. PV was also one of the earliest master-planned communities, and it has a lot of character unlike over-planned Irvine. Olmsted did a great job, especially with the landscape architecture.

  23. Move to a better part of town, at the very least. With the RE market dropping, this is a renter's dream.
