If you ever get a chance to drive a Trailblazer SS, you will totally be sold, that hug the ground and go fast. Love it, course my Suburban has a custom suspension and hugs the road and goes fast too. -
Q: What did the little boy tell his mom when he stuck his finger in the wall outlet? A: Mom, it Hertz!
-
I think that customized ride is a $75,000 plus after all you have a LT4 Wet Sump Connect & Cruise Powertrain System W/ 4L75E $25,411.03 So right there is a chunk and you still have installation, but that ride also has a ton of other customized work so I think easy $75,000 to $100,000 total for what they did and no I do not think it would be recovered selling it at auction. I get that they say it is an SUV, but it has a clear stationwagon look like how Eagle did their cars more than a traditional SUV. I could see you driving it.

I figure a bunch of you will enjoy this, but for sure @balthazar @oldshurst442 @ccap41 @trinacriabob @Robert Hall @Drew Dowdell @A Horse With No Name @GMTruckGuy74 @regfootball @Cmicasa the Great @surreal1272 Classic Custom. Modern Power (theblock.com)

In other words, let you slide your ass in and out of the auto without having to do a deep squat press every time you want to get out or in. -

So my Note9 by Samsung, I accidentally swung around, it was in my coat pocket and hit something cause it was not zipped up and wack, cracked screen. Hit hard enough to crack through the safety screen and actually crack the real screen. So off to Verizon, and I got me a new Galaxy S22 Ultra that replaces the Note series of phones. Been a long time since I was on a note 9, 4 generations ago as I learned they had a Note 10, then Galaxy 20, 21 and now 22 series. Left the store, got home and the wife wanted to run some errands, so I drove her in the SS and thought, lets plug in my new phone to the Pioneer AVH-2500NEX Android Auto head unit. First, only a black screen, I could hear my Spotify play and the instructions for Google map worked but no mirroring of my phone to the head unit. About 5 minutes later, head unit reboots. WTF Got home been searching online and finding plenty of Reddit, Google and Samsung threads of people having issues with the Galaxy S22 and Pioneer units. Also many people complaining about the death of the traditional Android Auto apps on the phones. Checked and sure enough with no prior info, Google stopped existing apps and changed to what is called Google Driving. The old Android Auto apps are greyed out and no longer work. Seems that this change is what has caused the black screen of nothing and crazy audio levels. I called Pioneer, they are aware that their head units do not work with the S22 line up from Samsung and have no plans to provide updates other than over their OTA Head Units only. DMH-WT86NEX, DMH-WC6600NEX, DMH-WT7600NEX, DMH-WT8600NEX are their new lineup of OTA units and once they have a fix they will push it out. At this time I can confirm after going to Car toys that the Pioneer units do not work even those listed above with the S22 Ultra that I now own. I tested all of the Kenwood units they had on hand also and for them only 25% of the screen would work with the S22Ultra so everything is really small. The only unit from Kenwood that seemed to work just fine was their top of the line eXcelon Reference DNR1007XR or DMX1057XR. The wife's S21 Ultra works fine except that sometime in the last 2 weeks, she cannot use the Pioneer audio "Hey Google" and has to first push the microphone first. To say that I am unhappy with Pioneer is an understatement. They have made the decision to ignore existing customers and move to an OTA format for their new 2022 units only.

I have noticed that on the east coast and in Canada even Victoria BC in the past when I visited, no one seemed to care about clearing the sidewalks for safety. Very interesting, but I guess if no one complains, then why spend the money might be the attitude.

? Happy Earth Day to All Totally remodeling the backyard, leveling it out for my Golden Years! No more hills, changing all the garden to raised beds so no more hands and knees. Not sure how much of a garden will get planted this year as I have to put in a retaining wall to my back neighbor, new fence and a retaining wall dividing 2/3rds of the yard from 1/3rd of the yard. Will have a slopped walk area to the upper section where the garden will go. Lots to do, so not sure my garden will get in this year. I also have to replace the decking on my 16'x20' deck, they are 23years old as I put them in new back in 1999 and have lived out their life. Rotted sections that a foot can go through, so looking at Trex to put down that will last till I die. I have 20 Leland Cypresses to plant once the retaining wall is done and fence put in, I will use it for a natural green barrier to all my neighbors, so I have a totally private back yard. Will keep it trimmed like mine in the front that gives me total privacy.

@oldshurst442 @ccap41 Think of all the armed forces who were doing flying like that in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. War time is even more crazy and yet the pilots hung their ass out on crazy ridges to pick up wounded, sick, innocent civilians, etc. Canadians on deployment in Mali

@oldshurst442 Sad to consider that he died at age 70 from Lung Cancer. I honestly do not understand how people can still smoke when they see how deadly it is. I get that nicotine is addictive and I fear that the tobacco companies have made vaping even worse by covering up the stench with fruity smells as science testing shows the levels are 10 times what smoking is, I expect we will see a new round of deaths in the young who have gotten addicted to vaping.

To quote Jim Farley, CEO, Ford Motor Company: “This is a shining example of what happens when we combine Lincoln luxury with flexible electrical architecture to create unimaginable experiences for customers,” “We can truly revolutionize how people engage with the brand and scale it across an exciting lineup of products that catapult Lincoln into the digital, connected age.” Global debut of Lincoln Star Concept evolves Quiet Flight DNA and showcases a captivating, dynamic new face – revealing the brand’s vision for connected, electrified vehicles Connected technologies and a next-generation Lincoln Intelligence System deliver unique, rejuvenating moments inside the cabin, with three moods that create a sanctuary using scent, sight and sound More than half of Lincoln’s global volume is expected to be all-electric vehicles by mid-decade; the brand will deliver three new fully electric vehicles by 2025, adding a fourth by 2026 Inside and out, the Lincoln Star concept introduces new design language, with Lincoln’s core tenets of beauty, human, gliding and sanctuary on full display. These tenets will help guide Lincoln’s future design, and by mid-decade, Lincoln plans to deliver three new fully electric vehicles, meaning that more than half of its global volume will be zero emissions vehicles, and it will add a fourth by the end of 2026. As Lincoln moves toward an electric future, it is equally focused on keeping its current portfolio fresh and introducing new clients to the brand. Lincoln reported its best annual global sales in 21 years, up 7% over 2021, and plans to build on its momentum with the recent launches of the all-new Zephyr in China and the new Navigator in North America. “As Lincoln enters the next chapter in our transition to a zero-emissions future, the Lincoln Star Concept will lead the way for our portfolio of fully electric vehicles,” said Joy Falotico, president, Lincoln. “It is an excellent example of how we are redefining luxury for the next generation as we work to transform the vehicle into a third space – a true place of sanctuary – for our clients.” Lincoln has been allowed to clean sheet the future of BEVs for the luxury line and the Star is where the imagination was let loose to create a guiding star for the future of Lincoln both on and off road. Maximizing ease of storage with one of the largest Frunks while providing a relaxing and large interior using an open access that has been a hallmark of the Continental of the past. To quote the press release: A guiding star for Lincoln Both on and off the road, thoughtful design details, connected experiences and clever solutions create the ultimate sanctuary for clients in the Lincoln Star Concept, while delivering a more modern aesthetic and intelligent, intuitive features. ‘ “Electrification is removing many traditional vehicle design constraints, allowing us to reimagine what a vehicle can be,” said Anthony Lo, chief design officer, Ford Motor Company. “The Lincoln Star is a study of experiences and themes that push the boundaries of Lincoln design – and it’s just the start.” In a nod to the evolved design language of Lincoln, the silhouette is sleek and dynamic, and is expanded to create a striking effect. Whether stationary or in motion, the concept uses design, light, displays, scents and sounds to create an immersive experience for clients. Intelligent technology that enhances comfort, productivity and entertainment is deployed throughout to bring the romance of travel back in a uniquely Lincoln way. Designers worked to create harmony throughout by using light in a modern new way. Illuminated crystallines, plus backlit doors, seats and exterior features elevate the architectural space to create the ultimate sanctuary. The new Lincoln star on the fascia lights up like a jewel – greeting clients upon approach while giving new meaning to the Lincoln Embrace welcome sequence. The company’s rear- and all-wheel-drive flexible battery electric architecture and next-generation Lincoln Intelligence System enable the new design thinking and connected experiences the Star Concept offers. The flexible architecture means engineers and designers could reimagine the additional interior space in new and exciting ways to create a unique Lincoln experience. The new Lincoln Intelligence System takes the definition of “digital assistant” to a new dimension, enabling experiences such as connected vehicle-to-vehicle and infrastructure capabilities, as well as next-generation leading driver-assist features such as Help Me See and Park for Me. Interiors can make or break a luxury auto and Lincoln looked to the past for inspiration while looking to the future on what todays 21st century customer would be expecting and has delivered on a spacious interior. The interior has also been designed for those that want to use hands free self-driving or at least have a relaxing space to converse with others no matter where one would find themselves on or off road. Even the need for a comfortable supportive reclining position was thought of. Lincoln has the following to say about this new take on the interior: A reimagined sanctuary Both in design and color composition, the interior is uniquely partitioned into first- and second-row areas. The entire cabin experience in the first and second row is premium, with extra-spacious wraparound seating, reclined lounge posture, individual lounge leg rests and curated storage for devices and slippers, controls for rejuvenation moods and a luxurious glass beverage chiller integrated between the back seats. The feeling of spaciousness is enhanced with 3D-printed metal latticework on the A-pillar along the windshield and the D-pillar at the back window of the Lincoln Star Concept – visible from the inside out. These transparent pillars, along with a full skylight with digital shade, invites natural light in to enhance the open, airy feel of the space. A coast-to-coast curved horizontal display creates a digital panorama in which content flows seamlessly into an integrated center control screen, then into the second-row screen, creating a unique experience for all passengers. New materials such as leather and chrome alternatives and several unique finishes – work in harmony to create a modern, luxurious experience. Three rejuvenation moods join a new Lincoln Embrace sequence harmonizing audio, scenting and lighting throughout the cabin. A symphonic orchestration with crisp, high-resolution animations on the displays creates an immersive digital sanctuary. Whether stuck in traffic or just enjoying a few quiet moments after work, the rejuvenation moods provide a true sanctuary in a third space: Coastal Morning uses gentle, oceanic sounds, a fragrance of sea mist and the soft, warm glow of the sun with dynamic lighting throughout to replicate a stroll on the beach at sunrise Mindful Vitality is meant to reenergize the senses, with invigorating, upbeat audio, dynamic abstract artwork, soft, glowing lighting and a flowery fragrance throughout Evening Chill mirrors dusk using a calming night soundtrack coordinated with night sky video and an evergreen fragrance The three moods are built around the body’s natural circadian rhythm of morning, day and evening. With the help of connected technology, the moods will offer content updates and ways for clients to personalize their settings into the future. Using the area no longer occupied by a gas engine, a front trunk allows for ample storage, expanding the feeling of spaciousness inside. With electro-chromatic glass that changes from transparent to opaque, the front trunk is instantly recognizable, allowing light in when the vehicle is in motion and darkening to hide stored valuables when parked. Under the front trunk, illuminated first-row floors flow uninterrupted into the interior, creating an airy, open cabin. A wing-shaped floating instrument panel, inspired by aircraft ailerons, emphasizes horizontal balance and equilibrium, while Lincoln one-touch pedal allows for effortless operation. The interior also features Lincoln Attaché, a digital briefcase concept with a hidden compartment in the rear coach door that not only provides safe storage of tablets and laptops, but does double duty as a charge pad for devices and can seamlessly detect incoming wireless content for clients. Finally, a reimagined rear cargo space features a lounge mode that transforms into a cozy, indulgent outdoor seat to bring the destination closer. “The Lincoln Star Concept has been a true labor of love for our team and provides us with a platform to share and test our experiences and design philosophy with clients as we evolve our Quiet Flight DNA,” said Kemal Curic, global design director, Lincoln. “Signifying transcendence through both space and time, the concept creates a sense of peace and serenity within an electric experience and previews what is to come from Lincoln.” Coastal Morning Evening Chill Mindful Vitality The Lincoln Star is an AWD concept that is showing what American Luxury in the 21st Century looks like and can be. As such, they have not stated if the Star is to be a SUV, CUV or Car. In looking at the next two videos, one could go as far as saying this is a return to comfort in the form of an American Station Wagon re-imaged in the 21st century. Lincoln-Star-Concept.mp4 Lincoln-Star-Concept-Connected-Experience-Animation.mp4 As Lincoln moves toward an electric future, it is equally focused on keeping its current portfolio fresh and introducing new clients to the brand. Yes, the Planes and Green Windmills do benefit from some of the same electric recovery motor tech. The one that I have always thought was great was the Carbon Fiber, and while BMW and Boeing use a ton of Carbon Fiber made in Moses Lake WA, the one thing I have since learned is how hard it is to recover and recycle carbon fiber. It will be interesting to see if it continues in BEVs moving forward or not. I think that Mercedes will not recover if they due attempt to use the battery tech from F1 in Plugin Hybrids sedans as I expect solid-state to replace the Lithium battery packs sooner. Over all, be it F1, Nascar, Nasa, etc. Lots of tech is R&D in these areas and then make it out to the public later.

No hate, Technology advancement from any auto company is good if it truly gets into the common auto as the picture above shows from F1 to Prius. Hate the Ugly Prius, but do not hate that the technology allowed them to accomplish a goal with the auto. Technology is always good, just does not mean that the company that figured it out actually uses it well in their public product line.

Saw my first in the wild Rivians, one up in the snow and the other near home coming back from skiing. Have to say, I really like the looks.

Very cool story and a video of a Rivian R1T helping pull out a stuck Semi cab on a muddy road to the paved road. Rivian R1T Effortlessly Pulls Stuck Semi Truck Free (insideevs.com) Tesla in 2019 changed their leasing on the Tesla 3 to no buy out option because they were going to use the used Tesla 3 in their self-driving ride hailing service. Fast forward 3 years and the ride hailing service is nowhere to be found, but Tesla has made a killing on re-selling their leased auto's due to used auto prices. Tesla has also changed their policy again, starting April 22nd, 2022, no Tesla that is leased can be bought at the end of the service agreement. Tesla now doesn't let anyone buy their car after lease is over as used car prices are skyrocketing - Electrek
