Based on the average person driving 40 miles a day, cost of gas versus electricity, less maintenance than ICE or Hybrid, if Nissan delivered the 3rd generation Leaf with 300 miles give or take 20 miles of range for less than this, I think many people will go with the leaf EV over an ICE/Hybrid as a better value.
As Drew posted in response to a LinkedIn post, most folks would charge at home allowing them to save much more than what ICE / Hybrids / Hydrogen would deliver.
And none of what you just said changes what I said in my original post. Two completely different vehicles, in powertrains and class of vehicles. For starers, the Mazda is a foot longer than the upcoming Leaf. Then there's the AWD part of the equation. See where this is going yet?

Yes Kia has plenty of Recalls and I would NOT recommend any ICE product from them.
Honda has also had plenty of recalls, but I would actually say more reliable than Toyota in the last Decade.
The Honda Prologue I made them aware of the issue when they bought this last weekend. Overall, they are very happy with it and understand that software updates are a thing that will happen as Honda has committed to have quarterly updates.
We will see how it goes. Overall, still loving my EV9 and how solid it has been. Yes, a few weird glitches in the software, but the latest update from Kia seems to have fixed it.
See @ccap41 post about the number of EV9 recalls. Last I checked, they are not ICE.
And data from the last ten years would suggest your opinion about Honda vs Toyota to be off as well. Doesn’t matter though. You made the post for one reason. To troll Toyota.

Shall I provide a list of competing Kia recalls (including ones from MY OWN Kia Sorento) @G. David Felt?
How about we start this instead? Hope you informed your friends about this on their Honda Prologue with the same "vigor" that you put out those recalls on the RVA 4.

Yet, still more reliable (overall) than more of the competition, which is easily verifiable btw but you have to get in your "once a month" Toyota dig I guess.
"Most" of the competition, not "more" Autocorrect lol.

Just be careful, the quality like many has issues if you buy used especially. I have a friend who whole family has been Toyota for generations and their extended family in Mongolia has been Toyota and lately they have had issues with their Rav4's. Just traded it in on a Honda Prologue. They were tired of the repairs.
Currently, there are recalls affecting certain 2024 Toyota RAV4 vehicles due to issues with brake caliper bolts that may not be properly tightened, posing a risk of brake failure.Details of Current Recalls

I had a recall done yesterday on my Navigator. The recall was to eliminate the risk of something catching fire due to the under-mirror lighting. The fix was to simply unplug the lights and I lose the feature.
This seems pretty ridiculous, right? Like, there wasn't an actual fix. I just lost something I paid for.
I had a loaner new Escape for the day though. It was..uhhh...okay...
What in the actual non-fixing F?

Do you feel I need to disclose per photo or will just an addition and explanation of this type of modifications in our existing AI policy be sufficient? I might even put those photos above as the example in the policy.
My goal here is to be completely above board about AI on the site. I’m not against AI, but I am against AI for this type of creative opinion and editorializing. I don’t feel that touching up a photo in this manner violates that since the subject is an actual photo, but I want to get the group’s opinion on it.
When it comes to photo editing, using AI is perfectly acceptable IMO. I do get what you’re saying about it though. There is a lot of gray area where AI is concerned and as an artist, I definitely have a certain stance regarding AI. However, your use of it for this purpose does not exist in that “gray area”. You are using it like any other tool on Photoshop so have at it. Announcing its use should not even be necessary here. Just my opinion though.

I'm guessing from the photos that the new vehicle is white, which is always a good choice for both heat and visibility.
I've seen some in that enamel pale gray (they might have called it dove gray in the past) and they really caught my eye. (That color comes into style and goes, once being popular in Cadillac and Buick ... my dad had a Buick in that color with the tufted buttoned velour seats in the same color and long trips in it were a pleasure.) If I could have that, with a gray cloth interior, along with a 3.5 Pentastar V6, I would enjoy driving one.
Not that I enjoy moving - I hate it - but the Chrysler vans can sure carry a lot of stuff with the seats down.
On the GM side of things, I sort of miss the now long gone Silhouette minivan by Olds over those of the other GM divisions.
Yep, white as snow lol but the pale gray looks really sharp too. A classic van color as well.

Practicality got the best of ya... smart.
So what made you go the minivan route?
Well, on top of being a Wagon nut, I have always had a soft spot for vans overall. The first 13 years of my life were spent riding around in my dad's 71' Chevy Sport 10 van (with a 3 on the tree) and so that has always stuck with me. As far as for doing this now, the space and versatility were big needs. I sold the Flex a few years ago (when the market was insane lol) and have been driving a 2014 Kia Sorento since then. I still have it but needed something bigger and more comfy for some future road trips so I started stopping out minivans. This is the Touring L model so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but I only needed a few of each lol. It is a 2018 with 101K miles and was well taken care of. It spent its first 50K miles as a corporate lease so maintenance was always done. I had some concerns about the 9 speed but those fears were alleviated once I put my foot through the floorboard a few times to test it. Best of all, NO PAYMENTS> I finally got some long overdue money owed to me and pst of that to get this for $13K. Needless to say, I am a happy camper right now.
1 hour ago, Drew Dowdell said:These have the most luxury comfort ride of all the minivans.
It does ride well and I like that it rides on 17s instead of 18s or 19s. Softer ride on those. My best bud has the same year Limited model with the largest wheels and while his rides well, it is a little firmer on the bumps than this one. Again, pretty happy camper here.

I wasn't real keen on them when they first came out but the look has aged well and my tastes have clearly changed as well lol.

Good Point, my 2006 Escalade ESV is 198.9 inches long, so round up to 199 inches
Ummm, what? How do you undershoot the measurement of YOUR OWN SUV by almost two feet in length? Exactly how drunk does one have to be to believe that a mid-size overdressed Camry is longer than an overdressed Suburban from 2006? Help it make sense.

I'm not quite sure what's going on with the doors... is that like a combination of woodgrain and plastic? Different types of woodgrain? Like the exteriors, the interiors of this and the current generation lost me...
Agree. I've seen the higher trims of this (online, of course) and while the interior colors in those are better than what's pictured here, the overall look from the outside to the inside is a mix bag, at best.

the pictures are worse than the video.
9 times out of 10, whenever someone has to say the above, it is because it is (in fact) ugly. No amount of "seeing it in person" changes the bad angles on the back of the EV4. There is no design cohesion back there when you look at the rest of the car. It is just a mess and I will stand by that, whether seen here or in person.

No car, especially its rear end, should give off "Aztek" vibes. That is just an eye sore on an otherwise well packaged EV.

I wonder why they gave this model less range (and I'm guessing smaller battery) than the upcoming Solterra, even though it is clearly a larger model?

That face is "ugh" but the rest of it is much improved, in terms of battery range and charging speeds. Not the fastest out there but certainly faster than the current Solterra.

Knock it off those who know who they are.
Fair enough but certain folks need to actually listen in regards to things like politics instead of doing whatever the hell they want and then later, claim that they are somehow a victim or that they were "bullied". There is a place for political talk and it is not on a car forum (unless it is directly related to the industry, of course).

5 were physical recalls and the other were software based. 2 of the software-based recalls affected features that you have to pay a monthly subscription for which I do not need as I just do not see any need for self-parking, self-parallel parking.
100% missing the point there David.

Thinking old school? No. Thinking simple math here when you’re talking about a foot of difference in length. Again, two completely different class and size vehicles. No one is cross shopping those two.
BTW, the Mazda has almost DOUBLE the cargo space of the current Leaf. That’s what a whole extra foot of length gets you regardless of the powertrain. That’s my whole point. You lumped in two completely different vehicles for no real reason other than a made up scenario.
