  1. Beautiful. It looks like they adhere to the dog "gender stereotype" that the male is more apt to roam and the female is more attached to home base. I only say this because, as a teen, someone in my family (not me) accidentally locked out our female Australian Shepherd on the WRONG side of the gate and I just happened to go outside and see that she wanted back into the yard. It looks like she explored a little bit but came back soon, preferring captivity.
  2. TYD, very European + one or two generations back. That was/is the approach. My parents would have NEVER split up because of 1) the kids, and 2) 'what would everyone say?' given where they come from. But, their marriage (Dad is deceased) worked OK. Dad was more than happy to wear both pant legs..and then some...and Mom was more than happy to have decisions made for her. Now that my Dad is no longer around, her sons make all her decisions for her...I feel like a babysitter sometimes. Sometimes it's better to stay together. Sometimes it's better to split. My Dad told me there is no reason in the world to tolerate some chick who is out of control and that the Catholic church can go take a hike since the priests aren't going to be the ones living with her.
  3. Possible hip dysplasia...probably not a good approach. Plus, if there's a bitch in heat somewhere in the neighborhood, you really think he'd remember the punishment that well?LOL. I will never forget, while growing up in LA, in the middle of a major boulevard (3 lanes each directions), 5 dogs were taking turns trying to hump this one dog in heat. Traffic had to stop. Ah, yes, the call of the wild.
  4. Damn, you are good at this. In fact, they showed me the "9 and 3" technique. It was the tie rods. And thanks to everyone else for similar input.(I have to drive it 600 miles next week so I want to make sure it's "hunky-dory" as I will have the car full of items, prior to the U-Haul truck the week after next.)

    CHEESE

Dude, I did ! Read above. Provolone...can't get enough of it, but stay away from large quantities because it's so damn fatty (YOU don't have THAT problem).
  7. Why not a real fence? Or is it too rural / someone else's property? Very few of the houses in my Mom's subdivision in Portland have fences -- the lots are all stepped and they have that "keystone" wall system. I know that when I get a dog, either an Australian Shepherd or a Border Collie, I will have a fence. After getting too attached to the animal, I wouldn't want anything to happen to it.
  8. BV lives close by, too (by Western standards). So then, BV waits at your subdivision's gate as you, on a periodic basis, bring out a packet of body hair to "lend" him, no?
  9. Wow...I'm stunned, S.H. ....I knew something about a "trial separation" but didn't know it would go further or couldn't be fixed. Two of my closest best friends growing up (a Cuban guy and a Spanish chick, Bronx-born though) both ended up in separate ugly situations. I listened to the whole thing from the sidelines. It made such an impression on me about relationships in which there is procreation that I've never wanted children. Both of them had kids. In both divorces, the kids became pawns. Wrong! The proof of one's maturity lies in being able to divorce without impacting your kids in a negative way. I know you can probably do that. Unfortunately, many divorces end up acrimoniously and the kids pay. Please pay attention to your daughter and I wish everybody the best outcome. Also, be careful when on the rebound. Some happen too fast....others NEVER happen. Somewhere in between is better.

    CHEESE

I forgot. If you HATE someone and you can get under the hood of their car, shred Limburger cheese all over the manifolds. Once it melts, yoooowwwww! Have you ever smelled that stuff?

    CHEESE

LOL! Right on. I love all the light colored cheeses...like Swiss, Havarti and most of all - provolone. The cheese in Europe puts our processed crap to shame, as far as I can see. I like bleu cheese, too, but in the dressing made by Bob's Big Boy with which I cover my salad and use as a dip for the french fries. I am staying away from cheese a little more, though, as I was told to lower my cholesterol. I am not a fan of liquor, but I have two bottles of free Zinfandel a co-worker gave me. So I have one glass of this "vino" with some cheese and wheat crackers right before I go to bed. I'm trying to see if it really does lower the cholesterol count. ocn and reg, cut it out...you guys are gross....LOL
  12. Yeah, yeah, I know...I keep saying I will get a car. I will as soon as I relocate since I have now finished this evening program. And it will be as conventional an automobile as my GM Card money and the difference can buy. However, the car after that will be different. I will try to hang on to my next purchase for a while. But I was thinking: what will dealership lots be filled with in 10 yrs? What do you think? I put down hybrid because it's a technology that will undoubtedly get better. The others are a little too avant-garde though they sure are "green" (did I say that...I didn't eat any granola today). I don't think the infrastructure to support the other choices will be there just yet. Your vote and thoughts.....
  13. Effect, the noun, is spelled with an "e." Va bene? :AH-HA_wink:
  14. 13...at best! :AH-HA_wink:
  15. I was thinking the same thing. Take it easy and I wish you quick and complete healing.
  16. You've got more to worry about...he lives a stone's throw from you...gated community and all...hehe
  17. It was the knock sensor, which was Code 43, just like they told me at one of the auto parts stores where they will stick in the code analyzer for free. With parts, labor and the entry fee diagnostics, it was not cheap. Oh well, 3 sensors total in 15 years and no computer...yet... I just want it to get to 250,000 and then roll it off a cliff...just kidding.
  18. I'll have to say I agree with her! :AH-HA_wink:

  21. I can't complain after 15 years and almost a quarter of a million miles. From another thread, I have to get either a tie rod or a front wheel bearing assembly fixed...but that can wait until early next week. Now, I evidently have a sensor problem. For a while now, the SES light came and went intermittently and the only noticeable problem was a surge right after shifting into OD (4th) at relatively low rpms (1600 or so) and, right after shifting, if the engine is put under load. It was sort of a flat spot. Now the SES light is on "full time." Upon start-up, the 3800 revs up a little more than usual, idling is rough and the tach seems to wander (better with A/C on, which almost eliminates it) and it's running rich. Sensors replaced: within the last year or so, the O2 sensor three years ago, the MAF sensor Suspected culprits (based on reading some articles): MAF Sensor Idle Control Valve Throttle Position Sensor I had it in Saturday, he found a code that didn't need fixing (false read) and I have to bring it back. But, there are smarter and more mechanically inclined people here than myself. Have you had this happen? What was it?
