  1. Why is that? Where there Oldsmobiles in your family? You guys sound more like Buick-philes.My Dad always gravitated toward Buick until I got him to buy Olds - the first Cutlass Supreme we ever had. It was so much better looking than the twin Regal of that same year. We got a lot of compliments on it. He bought Olds 2x more after that. I, too, have a weakness for Olds just based on history. Which is sad because Buick has given me a better car in my current Regal. As for a new car purchase, the lack of the Intrigue leaves a gap in my line-up. That was the car that fit me perfectly. I don't think that Saturn will EVER be Oldsmobile. Fuggedaboutit. Saturn will always feel to Japanese...they do to me. As far as interiors, I look at the comfort of the seats and position relative to the dash/cowl. I'm 5'-10." I don't like to sit low. The dashes in most Cadillacs, for example, are too "tall", as is the center stack, and I don't like that feeling. Also, I hate bucket seats that cup you too much. I don't like heavily contoured bolstering. That's one of the few things wrong with the current GP. We need more color and nicer interior fabrics. Stuff that is nicer to the touch. The seat fabric in the GP is NOT nice to the touch. But then, neither is mousefur. The upholstery in my Regal has a corduroy type texture and except for some frayed piping on my seat, the fabric has held up remarkably well. P, you'll like this. This chick from Palermo (friend of my cousin Alberto) said she went to America and rented a car. "Mi hanno dato questa macchina e mi son messa dentro, e tutto era BORDEAUX. Le poltrone, il cruscotto, tutto. Aaaiiiiii."
  2. It's spelled disdain. Buy me a good dinner at Detroit's Greektown if I am ever in those parts and I won't have any disdain for you. J/K. I personally don't give a $h! about all the drama. I'm too far removed from it all.
  3. Donner party (gross, sorry) Paulie, you spelled Lector wrong...
  4. funny (NOS that is)
  5. Will someone please take a pic of the US 50 mileage to Sacramento sign if you indeed go? That would be great!!!
  6. Chargerino, you're a piece of work!

  8. You're "joshing" me? She talks like this? Wow.Does she work or is she retired? I could just imagine her in an office. What a hoot. I get the impression she's a firecracker and your dad is mellow. Two people like her would be at each other's throats. On the flip side, my mom is all about this pouty melodramatic the glass is half full crap as she prays her rosary. Is it any wonder I live elsewhere?

  10. Reg, YOU NUT! God, there is SOOO much estrogen flowing here. Enough to make many lesbians turn straight. Seriously, gents, whomever of you (and I don't know any of you) has the civility, dedication and wherewithal to keep C&G C&G, go to it. It will be highly appreciated. There are a lot of cool and funny people here. I'm sure it lightens the day for so many of us. We're all standing by those of you so inclined to take the helm in a responsible manner.

  12. If you like the overall body style and the way the car is packaged, then go for it. Low mileage cars are always a gem to find. My 1992 now has 225,000 miles, so a 1997 with 45,000 miles is pretty impressive...and rare. Be sure to get a batch of receipts with it, too.
  13. I am starting to get baffled by the alphabet soup of change. Which new platforms are to be redone or scrapped/replaced for the 2008 and 2009 model year? 2008 - Malibu and related platform? 2009 - Impala and related platform? What about LaX and GP - when are they do for facelift or doomed to the graveyard of monikers? What is moving from FWD to RWD? This would be interesting for everyone's edification.
  14. Yeah, that's right, I've seen it on the Sacramento end where it forks off of I-80 just past the communist community of Davis CA.

  17. Yellowstone Falls look gorgeous. Do they run that strong all year? I know that, at Yosemite, the falls can be weak depending on when during the year you go. Yosemite is stunning during late Oct/early Nov season/leaf color change. Neither the crowds of summer nor the winter sports crowd. You missed Old Faithful. No pictures of it or just forgot? Never been to Yellowstone. It's too far from anything else I'd like to see so I stick to the closer in national parks.

  19. The BEST! One minor correction, Nick. It should say: "Nah, Silkey, I don't have YO money." And the car's a pimpish purple. Awesome! Walk on, child!
