  1. Sly I need a new sig. Here are some of the better pictures I have of the Malibu :-D
  2. yep, i'm on maliburacing.com misfitmalibu63 is a good friend of mine, i've helped him a lot with his car (I found him the Cutlass he grabbed the vortec 355 out of last year, lol) I bought my car from KillerMalibu on the forum....
  3. congrats, i just graduated last weekend.... i dont think our class did anything afterwards......
  4. When I first opened the thread my first thought was "third gen camaro or firebird", but yeah, if you're biggest concern is fuel efficiency and reliability and stuff, cancle that thought (Though seriously, if you could find a V6/5 speed Camaro for 1500 bucks, assuming its in good mechanical shape, you'd have a sporty car with a 5 speed thats fairly good on gas, for less than what you have to spend....) What about an S10 or Ford Ranger pickup? those can be had with the 4 cyl (right?) and 5 speed for fairly cheap.....
  5. and you were slowing down dude.... i'm pretty sure it was up a little higher a few seconds before i took the pic, haha
  6. http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/speed...ent=startup.flv http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y45/speed...tangpics039.flv few vids of my dear old firebird running :-/
  7. lolI know the kid who built/owns that car, its got a tuned port 335 (305 stroker), runs mid 13's, the car is incredible to see in person. The place that did the bodywork and paint on that car also did some of the wiring on my Firebird.... Heres his cardomain if you're interested in more pics and info http://www.cardomain.com/ride/262003 now, my favorite firebird pics... have to be the ones of my car when it was just finished up and put on the road..... it actually looked decent at this point!
  8. "We all" I intended to mean Silvester (Sixty8panther), Ross (XP715), and myself.... and anyone else who agrees!
  9. hahaha if thats the car I'm thinking it is, I know the kid who drives it. From the looks of the car (if its the same one I'm thinking it is), he probably doesnt even have springs in the car it sits so low to the ground..... RICERRRRR and Silvester isnt a bad person, believe me. we all like to make fun of imports once and a while though :-)
  10. Gotta get some pics with the engine bay cleaned out, but heres one from the other day at Silvesters house after just washing the car.... Silvester and I were DEFINATLY the highlight of the car show......
  11. yeah dude, that buffalo was friggin funny! so random, too! but yeah, we definatly need to get some road trips in with the Malibu....
  12. haha while he recovers from the surgery (if you wanna call it that), he's got a few friends who I'm sure would be more than willing to drive such a fine automobile back to Tyngsborough for him :-P though most likely (even without the surgery) it will be put on a flatbed to get to his house. The car is really nice. I went with him when he looked at the car, it really is sweet. under the car is a little less than perfect, as is the rear bumper and some of the paint, but the interior is AMAZING, and nothing is in "bad" shape at all..... just some spots arent as perfect as others :-D
  13. thanks for all the compliments, guys! I really love the car, its been great so far! The car came with no A/C which is fine by me, the windows do a good enough job IMO. My only complaint is that I've got nasty burns all over my fingers and arms from all the metal $h! in the interior (Door handles, seatbelts, window crank arms, etc.) that get freaking HOT after sitting in the sun at work for a few hours, haha
  14. Well, I sold my Mustang Cobra on Monday, and picked up my new 81 Malibu today :-) Because of rain (And going to dinner with my girlfriend and her family), I wasn't able to start detailing it today, but I'm waking up REAL early tomorrow to get as much done as possible before going with Silvester to look at a car he might be buying :-P Just thought I'd share pics.... its a 229 v6 with 71,000 origional miles, painted a year or so ago, body is SOLID, no rot or any real rust ANYWHERE, and the thing runs and drives like a champ! Plans for now are to freshen up the interior, clean up the engine bay, and pretty much leave it stock until a year or two from now when I'd love to drop a turbo buick (Grand National) engine into it.... just to be different than all the other Malibus out there.
  15. I took that pic on purpose..... at first i was like "Hah! that camaro's all bling'd out! how 80's!" then i noticed the beer can next to it and couldnt help but laugh..... how steriotypical! a beat up ol' thirdgen camaro with an empty beer can next to it.... That pic wasnt just a coincidence :-P glad you noticed the humor in it
  16. Well, yesterday I went up to the "worlds largest outdoor car museum" (From a thread a while back) with XP (Sixty8 was gonna join us but had to stay home and watch his kid just kiddin Sly, there will be pleanty of other times that we'll go up this summer). I took a crapload of pics, it was my first time there that I really got to see some of the stuff they had (The other time I went up we were in a real hurry cause they closed very soon) Just thought you guys might want to see some more pics from this place.... http://community.webshots.com/album/550670613hQXaqC The pics at the end are just weird stuff that we saw on our drive back through Manchester
  17. the other game linked at the bottom of that site is pretty fun too! Silvester, I tried calling ya last night but you were probably out. I'm pretty much free the whole week (cept friday) before I start working mornings at Target, so if anythings going on, lemme know! i'm finally freeee!!!!

they get really into that sorta stuff at my highschool..... like... REALLY into it..... with a bunch of police cruisers, fire trucks, and ambulances "rushing to the scene", using the jaws of life to rip apart the cars, taking the people out of the cars, arresting people, and even throwing the "dead kid" in a hearse and having the parents be there acting as well... then afterwards they have a whole assembly in the gym and they have a coffin with the "dead kid" in it when you walk in, they have guest speakers, people who have lost family to drunk drivers, people who have killed people cause of driving drunk, etc. I dunno... I'm not the sort of person that would really be in the position that something like that would happen, but it didnt really affect me too much.... I did find it funny however that one of the cops that spoke at the presentation was the one who gave me the ticket for doing a burnout at Drum Hill, lol http://www.townonline.com/chelmsford/local...rticleid=495958
  19. The dealership is about 40 minutes away from me, XP, and Sixty8 I have a friend that lives in Newton (Right next to the town the dealership is in), next time I go down there (dont know when it will be), I could try and get some pics of the dealership sign if I can..... unless Sixty8 wants to take a trip down there just to get pics of it, LOL
  20. Yeah Ross, I think your car wins..... I wouldn't have any doubts about it being 100% white trash if a certain person who previously kinda-owned the car was behind the wheel :P
  21. well, around here theres NO cateras in any of the junkyards... lol The traction control comment is true. In most cases, if I had the traction control ON, I found myself having more and more close calls. Theres one intersection by the highschool I go to where you have to sometimes go through fairly quickly because cars FLY around this corner and you cant see until they're like 100 yards away from the intersection. SEVERAL times, mostly when it was raining out, I would start to go through the intersection, a car would be coming, and the car would bog down so much I'm surprised I'm still alive! With the TCS off, even in the rain and sleet and stuff, I never had any close calls.
  22. I've still got that hunk-o-junk, Ross.... and chances are I'll probably have to drive it for a few days between the time when I sell the Cobra and the time at which I get the Malibu. My Catera is a 97 with just about 120,000 or so on the clock (if I remember correctly). My word of advice is to stay away from the cars. My father bought the car back in 99 or 2000 and drove it from MA to NJ and back countless times. There were a few things that went wrong with it and cost THOUSANDS of dollars to be fixed, i forget exactly what. For me, what I dislike about the car is not only the styling, but the fact that parts are so f@#king expensive and hard to get. The valve cover gaskets on my car have been leaking since before I got the car (my dad sorta gave it to me 2 or 3 years ago before I could even drive, and told me if I could get the thing to run again, I could use it as my car), and I had to pay 60-70 bucks at the Cadillac dealership for them. Maybe its just my lack of caring about the car, or maybe I'm just lazy, but I've put like around 15,000-20,000 miles on the car myself and still havnt done the valve cover gaskets. Such a PITA to do. Someone mentioned the serpentine belt.... Talk about a pain in the ass! I forget exactly how long it took (maybe thats a good thing), but I wanna say it was like 40 minutes or so cause you have to take so much crap out of the way and theres NO room for your arms to move around in there. The suspension on my car is FUBR. I'd fix it all, but you cant get like the air shocks or anything from any regular parts store, and I can only imagine how much the dealership would charge for those. I dunno.... They're fairly comfortable cars, but thats about all the "good" I can say for the Catera... Check out www.cadillacforums.com , I used to post on there a lot. Theres a section about Cateras. The 2001 might be a different case than the 97 and 98's but I still would look at other cars before a Catera...
  23. Picked up the CD for the girlfriend yesterday, she's a huge RHCP fan, so i'll probably listen to it some time this week :-) 10 bucks at target after my "team member discount" ;-) cant beat that!
  24. Sly, you still planning on sneaking in/camping out there some time this summer? as bad of an idea as that would be, if you were to do something like that, it might be fun, in a stupid way, LOL
  25. True.... lol I was talking more about stuff that SHOULDNT be on the highway, NOT cars, LOL
