  1. that doesn't refute the fact that the cts' performance is behind the is and 3-series; and in order to keep those precious sales we should try to make our car best in class so MORE people would consider it. The CTS is a good looking car, but park it next to the 3-series and if you can't tell which car is more modern then you're blind. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with owning a CTS or that it's a bad choice, simply that there are more intriguing choices in this tough segment of the marketplace. I also don't think delaying this car one year would cause a huge sales defficiency [and it might even extend the almost inevitable sales slide of the STS once the newer CTS comes]; but the benefit of releasing a world-beater car is that your lineup has a world-beating car, and everyday and every person who sees that car counts towards erasing all those ill will perceptions towards CAddy.
  2. she's f'in incredible. i saw her live playing with dc [ don't ask] and i just could not look at anyone else. she's phenomonal. so damn hot, and those legssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
  3. one year difference is not significant? I thought the CTS would be in production by the end of next year--Cadillac's product line, and GM's product line in general, needs all the shots in the arm they can get, so they can continue to make dramatic shifts onto shopping lists. The current CTS needs an interior/exterior revamp like Cadillac needs coupes/convertibles/S-class competitor----to build image.
  4. That's TERRIBLE news.
  5. one thing i know, even if tens of thousands of internet enthusiasts get thier hands on these pictures, and then even if Car and Driver printed them, less than 1% of the general public would have any clue like they wouldn't have a clue if a meteor blasted in the astmosphere of the sun. Besides, C&D would likely face reprucussions since they truly are a mass publication, whereas at most maybe 10,000 people would see them here. A sizeable proportion, but miniscule nonetheless compared to the general population. my view.....defend GM and build customer following for them....releasing the pictures here would do nothing but create excitement for GM in general. ;) jmo........
  6. that prototype fiero may look like a whale, but it still is kinda badass, and shows what great potential this car had. Let's see more GM prototypes and concepts that never were! Please....
  7. wow, zeta has sigma components as well as components (firewall, etc) from the VE cars. very interesting.....is it time for an insider to chime in? can we possibly see a replacement for the GP or a Buick RWD sedan in time for the 2007 model year? Or this could be testing for the next Zeta....
  8. Is the avalanche different from the tahoe?
  9. The new one isn't as distinctive anymore--I was never totally against that chrome strip, at least in the uplevel trim, I think it set the Malibu apart. Now, it's just SO bland and so rental level look.Granted, I have not seen an uplevel model, but the mid-level one I saw was nothing special, but then I've never really felt anything special about the Malibu, except that it's face was starting to really grow on me. My impressions probably won't change since there really is no difference between the mid-level and up-level in terms of the grille. the interior is starting to show marked improvements, but that just goes to show what can happen when GM sweats the freaking details
  10. CZ28 is saying the turbo models will have more than 250hp, i like the sound of that.
  11. I know GM has worked on all these models. Business cases have been made. Development and design work has been accomplished as well. They are feasible, and if GM would stop teeter-tottering around, they could get those to us soon enough.
  12. Ah-ha's list is perfect. Additionally, if we could get a Buick Roadmaster sedan in by that timetable, or after that, then perfect! So my list is: Impala Camaro G8 GTO Velite Roadmaster
  13. Damn I wish mr.impala had taken a picture of the escalade too.

    The New Civic

Haven't seen the car in person yet, so I can't say. But has anyone seen the commercial yet, it's great great advertising, and that song is awesome. Does anybody know what song and commercial I'm talking aobut? It mostly just has the car and two people in the car, but the song is perfect for Honda's target market, and then they talk about the hybrid version. It really hits the target audience well.
  15. 'Journalists' today are caught up in an incessant circle of comparisons they cannot seem to break free of. Cars are inevitably compared to one particular one in one particular area >>"The seats are not nearly as comfortable as those in Car X"<<, which only implies everything else is uncomfortable instead of primarily what it is: different. This sort of mindset only fosters homogenization and disdain for uniqueness. hmmm....interesting point.....can this be broadened though and be applied to American society in general, always looking for the best, always comparing, never stopping to just enjoy what you have?
  16. what's amazing is how good this car manages to look despite those plates. Ya, those plates are awful, but a hot little red corvette never was a bad proposition to me. gotta love this red
  17. Wonderfully said. They are both truly great cars with slightly different missions. Thanks for putting it so eloquently.
  18. The G6 would be better looking if it was more balanced by having smaller overhang in the front. the 6 has a more athletic looking design from that angle, and the G6 looks a lot like the old Grand Am from the side. From front on the G6 does have such a front heavy look to it.
  19. I have a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell!
  20. What's that supposed to mean  ? Not sure if that was sarcastic or what?
  21. Thank God, those things were hideous.
  22. I don't know that that's saying much man. It's a nice design at least, it's just very conservative still, imo. I think when we see the new Malibu we will know what a truly great desgined mid-sized sedan for the everyman looks like.
  23. I read the whole thing too. Your story brought a smile to my face, sixty. That Caddy is sweet, pimp. I can just imagine that butterscotch ride on it. It actually made me want to get an old-school ride that's relaxed just for cruisin, and that's a big deal. Hope everything settles soon, whatever it is, trust in yourself and beleive in better things to come.
  24. This car is as bland as they come. The only thing interesting/polarizing about it is the face. HarleyEarl said it best when he said this car is the exact opposite of not playing it safe.
  25. DeLorenzo sounds like me with his GFD rally call. Seriously, though, from what Ford is releasing to the public, they are in design doldrums. They have a couple knockouts (Mustang, GT), a couple handsomes (F-series and derivatives), and a lot of good concepts but not much invention going on for the public side. They have somewhat of a similar situation to GM in that many of thier best designs are, so far, strictly on the show circuit. Then there's PAG. They've got it ALL right. Man are Astins beautiful. Man are Land Rovers rugged and elegant. Man are Volvos attractively designed. I'm sorry but those prototypes shown above still reflect an Audi design theme. I love Audi, but it's been done already. Move on.
