Moving = always no fun. If by ‘expecting’ you mean offspring; congrats. Put ‘em to work early!

Dark blue ‘71-72 Olds 442 convertible on the interstate, mint restoration.

Local Chevy dealer has almost no inventory. One brand new '21 Silverado W/T; regular cab / long bed, 4WD but stamped steel 17" rims, refrigerator white. Sticker was $33K, but has a 'market adjustment' addition of another $3K.

GM has already been deleting AS/S- the Yukon pic I posted last week had it on the window sticker.

Is the 2 Door Muscle car era coming to an End?

True, but again- it has nothing to do with motive power. -

My '40 : has push-button start, no ignition key/cylinder. There's a 'master' toggle switch on the steering column bracket (to the dash) that energizes the truck. There is a key in the same column bracket... but it only allows you to lock the steering column (rotate wheel until you find the 'notch', turn key & remove). All this works as intended. -

Have had bunches of both door counts for various reasons/happenstance, but I'll always prefer 2-drs since I don't have 3.5 screaming children to ferry around. Plus.... dey cooler. -

 Push-button start goes back to the dawn of automotive time. Millennials think it's 'high tech'. ? I kinda like keys only because you can control it more precisely. Sometimes you need to 'bump it'. -
Is the 2 Door Muscle car era coming to an End?

Sure; they can ask Santa for one. Motive power has zero to do with body style availability. Is the regular cab / long bed pickup coming back 'if people want it' because it's pushed by kW instead of BTUs? -

"Wrong"? The Lincoln is factory ('61-'67), the Cadillac is not. Last Cadillac 4-dr convertible was this one: Talk about a dead body style. And the t-top thing was tried en-mass to replace the convertible. Nothing ushered its return quicker. -

Not much to report. I'm driving it 90% of the time vs. the '04, just not going many miles. In a bit of a lull at the moment- just a tick over 1400 miles & about halfway thru my 3rd tank of fuel. Actually... that's about right; say 800 miles/mn = 9600/yr. OK, I'm on target. I feel like the trans is learning my driving style, as it seems to be slightly 'snappier' (I have a lead foot). I did try a dead stop/full throttle start... but I had it in normal mode and (I just remembered!) traction control on. No squealy, will try again, 'cause it feels quick enough to lay rubber from a stop. 3 times to date it has done this weird thing where you press the starter button and it just cranks- I only let this happen 2-3 secs before shutting it off. Normally it starts after less than a sec of cranking. Don't know what that's about... but I can FEEL the layers upon layers of electronica between me and the mechanical bits. I believe you have to look at the starter button more like a door bell; press/release; don't hold it down. I have a lot of 'starter button time' in the '40, so have to unlearn. -

Maybe, maybe not. 'They' said that about convertibles, remember. Oh course- if all the 2-drs go, so do all the convertibles. ? -
SSC official 2-way run was still 282. 282 > 273.
-
Fastest top speed car is the (Shelby) SSC Tuatara, which ran a 2-way average of 316 MPH (unofficial). It did a 1-way run at 331 MPH. It's verified 2-way run was 282 MPH. SSC is American, based in Washington State. Also, the Hennessey Vemon GT did a 1-way run of 270 MPH. AMG One is only projected to go about 220.

I'd like 'DEATH' for the '59- nothing low profile there, car-wise. No doubt it's not permissible.

I'm as degenerate as the next guy, but I never understood this sort of thing. The 'being clever' part and the 'getting it past the Man' part is cool, but the ultimate statement is 'p*ssy!', and much like those 'truck nuts', I just don't get what they're really trying to say. It's like standing around at a party, drinking some beers, then blurting out 'p*ssy!' and laughing uproariously... except the license plate is you saying it CONTINUOUSLY. Perhaps it's just a notch or 2 too adolescent for me.

Want to make auto-related stock profit- buy GM or Ford. Tesla’s run seems over and there’s zero dividends.
-
• Half of my truck is aluminum (tailgate, hood, all 4 doors). • A ferrari with enough batteries to beat a Tesla will weigh 4500 lbs. They’re already made mostly of plastics, alum, FG & CF- smk talks about them like they’re all-steel bodies now. I’m a connoisseur of Good Taste.

This a hodgepodge mess of elements that are fighting like the Hatfields & McCoys. No fluidity, no harmony. Looks like it was designed by committee.
